@JPB,
I've been out of touch since the Patriots' loss.
Nice to see that they're going ahead with the Super Bowl anyway.

Who died and left the NFL king?

@George,
No kidding. The not-for-profit status of the NFL is ridiculous. They dump a lot of money into the host cities but they make a bundle in advertising. This is the same entity that claimed the rights to "Who Dat" and went after little t-shirt shops selling a logo that had been in use for-evah in this city.

Pissing matches with the NFL and Goodell aside, it should be a great week to be in New Orleans.

@JPB,
You right about that.

Fifteen degrees here in the 'Chusetts, with a wind chill factor of "holy ****".

@George,
68 and sunny here. It was 75 here yesterday. Hovering in the 20s at home.

@JPB,
Are you kidding? We were basking in the heat yesterday with 35 degrees and freezing rain! It's 25 above this morning, and we're feeling downright snug. I can't imagine 75 in January, but I don't spend a lot of winters on the Gulf Coast. I was down there a couple of springs ago working on the Gulf Coast Restoration task force, though, and found it downright enjoyable.

@CowDoc,
We're going through a cold snap and some rain this weekend in the Valley of the Sun. Cloudy and 58 right now, with a high of 69. Brrrr.

Regarding the game itself, as the baby of my family I've always been partial to the younger sibling in these sibling rivalries. I'll be cheering for Baltimore.

Aren't they coached by the older one?

frankly, i don't want either team to win.

but if i had to pick a winner, i spoze i'd go with the niners -- i hate them a smidge less than the ravens...

I had that backwards in my head. Ok, Jim was a Bear, but they beat the Saints last year in the final game. It's a toss up.

Aww man, I knew it....Even after a 7-7 start in the first quarter...Easiest money you could ever make is to take the over on the Pro bowl every single year...Even if it is in the high 80's or low 90's...

35 AFC-62 NFC...5 min left....

I bet it was not higher than 84-86....I have never lost on an over on the pro bowl....But I did not take it this year...

@XXSpadeMasterXX,
I thought high 80s/low 90s was the over/under on viewership.

@ehBeth,
The game had to be interrupted when a player was hurt tieing his shoe.

Street closings around the Superdome make driving a flippin' nightmare! That and marching bands who have a practice march down one of the few open roads in the CBD at the midday rush. Took me 45 mins to go three blocks. Coulda/shoulda walked the 2 miles in each direction.

@XXSpadeMasterXX,
I was reading a defense of it by Peyton Manning and I forget whom else, someone big. Made sense to me (no link).
