When I come down with a cold, I can feel it in my left ear. Does that mean my ear is infected?

Possibly. I would hazard a guess that may be fluid building and it may be referring some minor ear pain. Possibly their also might be some fluid (congestion in sinuses) buildup, though it's hard to say.

I'd see a doctor if it's concerning you.

@gollum,
Yes, there is a possibility, the phlegm may have traveled to the canal near your ears. Maybe you can have it checked by ENT doctor to be sure about it.
