Why are there two of these threads?

There are two of these threads because Chai started one as well. I can only speculate, but i suspect RG just wanted to piss everyone off. It will certainly cause some confusion.

Chai's thread was about replying to all in e-mail, but was revived to address the missing button here...

I'm replying to all, not just RP.

When I asked why there were two of these threads, I wasn't referring to another thread on the same topic. I was referring to this thread. For some reason, there were two of them. I reported it, and one was deleted.

One (namely me) likes to think that changes are made for the purpose of improving things. I don't see this as any kind of improvement.

I'm hoping that someone will explain why this was done. I'm also hoping that it will be undone. I know that Mrs. Macbeth said "What has been done cannot be undone." But she said that before they invented computers.

I didn't look into Chai's thread, so thanks for setting me straight. This is tempest in a teapot stuff. I noticed the absence of the option, but thought little of it. I have no power to alter the environment here, so to my mind, complaining about something like this is equivalent to complaining about the rain. I only finally dropped into this thread because it seemed from comments in unrelated threads that people were getting upset. That surprised me because for a very long time people have been "replying to all" by just clicking reply on the last post.

I see it as a glitch not yet fixed.

I see it as a mystery that I'd love to see solved.

Perhaps it was an intentional move on the part of the hamster master...but perhaps it simply was a glitch or gremlin kinda thing.

Anyway...I hope at some point we all find out.

Mr. Anta, Not exactly a tempest. Just an annoyance. And I'll complain about the rain and this if I choose to. People may have been "replying to all by just clicking reply on the last post," but I wasn't one of those people.

I'm hoping it's a temporary glitch.

robert mentioned doing this once before when he was overhauling the site.

I posted my reasoning then, and still feel the same way.

there is definitely a need at times to reply to all instead of picking an individual and then clouding the waters.

it's his sandbox, he can do whatever he wishes, but this is one more reason not to like a2k in my book. and one of a growing number of annoyances...

now that I've thought about this a little bit, I had to come back here and piss robert off.

that's ok, I'd like his input, and that's one way to get it. even if he becomes a little bitch like he sometimes does...

I think this move shows a big disrespect for the people that come here every day and add content to his site.

not that we deserve anything extra special, but...

removing a feature that is obviously being utilized by a reasonable number of his contributors, without warning or discussion, is blatant lack of respect in my world view, skewed as it may be.

I welcome a rebuttal...
