McGen, you leave yourself so open all the time. It's almost as if you want to be abused.
Let's see the Craven v. McGen match.
Do I need to go on here? I've noticed all ready that you prefer to comment on what other people say instead of offering your own insights. Undoubtedly this is going to fall in a little quote box too, but you need to understand something. It hardly matters what you think in virtualville. Only the cream rises to the top here, and that is for everyone else to determine, not me or you, or even Craven, for that matter.
What is the source for Pistoff's numbers?
Where is the "snopes" source that Craven references?
I'd also like to point out that I have long suspected Umbagog is a coke addict. Something about the way he rambles, with great conviction, and jumps from thought to thought in an oddly haphazard way. It spells coca leaf to me. Not an insult, of course, just an idle observation.
Hello ILZ
You might wish to read Um's posts more closely. She has spelled out her gender a few times.
Um, best to ya on your job search. About yo ass...oh no I aint gonna talk about that

True. Maybe he, uhh, should take some, umm, lessons in, uhh, public speaking, umm, err, umm, from the, uhh, senior Senator from, uhh, Massachusetts.
Being intelligent & being a good public speaker do not always go hand in hand.

I've tried, believe me. In any case, I hope
she sticks around.

You are not making any sense. Even in places where I tried to give the benefit of the doubt.
Craven de Kere wrote:You are not making any sense. Even in places where I tried to give the benefit of the doubt.
Oh, it takes a degree of practice. But once you get into the Umbagog vibe, it all becomes clear. He does, in fact, make sense, he just has an unusual way of expressing himself. As an aside: You know whats funny? Circus freaks named Chongo. Also, that Umbagog is a journalist.
OK boys, I'm used to criticisms.
1) I am a male, and yes, very particular about who gropes me.
2) Not a coke addict. I get cranky and can't stop grinding my teeth. Haven't done coke since the mid-80s, in fact. What do you think my pic has in his hands, anyway? It's the only vice I have.
3) I quit smoking recently ( cigarettes ) so I suppose I do sound like a girl lately.
4) I have a degree in journalism, but rebelled against the establishment in my internship lately. I now freelance porno and political hack sights on occasion for extra cash, and am currently trying to sell an archeoastronomical theis I developed over several years. Tough niche to break into though. Porno is way easier.
5) My "style" is to make politics more personal, or else try to demonstrate the bigger picture regarding the issue being debated. Yes, I can be long-winded when the subject is complicated. When I post, I am talking to the readers. Don't like it? Sorrry.
6) Yes, I am irritating. It's the whole point of the style. I've assumed a penname here, and all that that implies. Raunchy, outrageous, play-acting hysteria delusion sometimes, throwing out barbs and innuendo, hell, on Abuzz I am downright rude, but it is all for a reason. In real life, I know how to get the party started. Here I am trying to narrate images and ideas, especially to those who state the most clueless things, I really can't believe it they are daring enough to expose how uneducated they are and expect us to believe they are wise.
7) I don't hate anyone except stupid or selfish people. If you are either, you suck.
The point here is that you shouldn't be assuming you know who or what I am without asking. I'll always be happy to tell ya what you want to know, but when it comes to assuming my character based on what I am posting, that would be a mistake. I take many different positions as the case may warrant, and intellectually I am a chameleon. One month you will think I'm a liberal idiot, and then I become a conservative moron. I'm neither actually, but more like some kind of radical hybrid interested only in that which actually makes sense.
Sometimes deliberately saying something stupid is a good way to get others to offer insights as they "correct" me. Or if I want to draw in other stupid idiots I will play the part to get them to share their nonsense with me.
There's a guy on ABuzz that wants to nuke everyone. So I played pro-nuke with him, and man, we'd look like the Moon if he had his way.
What I am is a writer. I study people in these places in order to develop characters for the story I may be writing at the time. My first fiction novel is pretty much done, but I need to broaden the characters of my bad guys. It takes place in the future, but it is an allegory of the first half of American history and takes place on planets instead of in states. It's a dark history full of villians, and not being especially evil myself, I need to study stupidity first hand to get a grip on what makes these types tick.
Abuzz has many more stupid people on it than A2K does, but there are a few here. And getting intelligent insights to add in is always helpful too.
That's right. You are being observed. But in a user-friendly kind of way. I put complex stuff out there on purpose, because I am always looking for that special someone who can keep up with me. IF that means a few giggles along the way, well, who cares, eh? When someone comes back with the proper response, I know that person has a mind that works, and works well.
I mean come on. This isn't the place for fluffy, casual conversation about politics. It's a jungle in here. I'm always interested in heated debates based on facts, even if the subject matter is a complicated one. I am LOOKING for someone to prove me dead wrong. I'm all for meeting my intellectual superiors. Ego and pride hold sway here more often than not, and that is dull, dull, dull. Proving someone wrong doesn't mean you are attacking them, unless you have some shortcomings you don't want anyone knowing about. If so, you are going to hate my guts. If not, you might find I have a unique perspective.
Many have underestimated me, much to their chagrin. I'm not all-knowing, but what I know, I know well. In time I will post more polished works, but right now I am flying off the cuff for the most part, and not editing my work at all. You are reading what just pours out of me. You haven't seen much in the way of real craft on my part.
But you will, provided I get out of the spider hole I am in right now, and continue to explore this place.
I'm kind of a free-flowing writer, and without any editing attached to it, it will pick up unexpectedly right where I left off. It's hard to have all the great ideas all at once. They come in colors...
I have a dog named Bonzo, well, it's really John Henry Bottom, but everyone calls him Bonzo. He's a wire-haired fox terrier, and he has George Bush eyes. He likes to almost bite people when they try to leave. He's a retard, but a loveable one.
McGentrix wrote:Maybem but Clinton with the highest? I mean really...
What? Why do you find that so difficult to believe? He's a Rhodes Scholar, which, FYI, is not something easily attained. I think you have confused intelligence with common sense.
There is absolutely no way that George ADubyaOL Bush is acting dumb...he simply has to be as stupid as the indicators he gives.
I doubt we will ever know his IQ -- and I don't think that is especially necessary to determine if the guy is a moron or not.
He is!
And I offer as evidence...
...goddam near every time he opens his mouth without a TelePrompter in front of him.
Frank- I am not a George Bush lover. But I see it another way. There are some people, (and most politicians) who are very verbal, glib, and quick with the answers. George does not happen to be one of them, which is unfortunate in a world leader.

I appreciate your position, Phoenix, and you are correct.
But I was not talking about his glibness, his verbal skills, or his ability to think on his feet with dispatch.
The content of what he says, in my estimation, indicates a stupid individual -- no matter how he says it.
There was an article I read in Time magazine a while back where he referred to Canada as "our most important neighbor to the north." Huh? We are the only neighbour to the north! Well...you COULD count St. Pierre and Miquelon too, although technically they are northeast of the coordinates defining the U.S.A. Hmmm...maybe he meant Greenland, 'cause some of their geography is in the same longitudinal region as American soil.

Yet, somehow I just have this feeling that he wasn't even thinking of those two regions at all when he made the statement he did. I wonder if he even knows about St. Pierre and Miquelon. Should I ask? *L*

In all fairness, I don't think anybody but the most knowledgeable Canadians know or care where St. Pierre and Miquelon are. I don't blame them either.
