Fight! Fight! Bill and Margo! Go Margo!
Well - I'm here - but that wuss OB has hit the trail!
It could be a combination -- part of what birth control methods like that (pill, patch) do is make your body think it's pregnant. (You can't get pregnant if you already are pregnant.) I just started back on the pill recently after several years without, and definitely felt pregnant -- the same smells that bothered me when I was pregnant were bothering me again. (Weird things like the interior of a car, which I never usually notice. The "new car smell" is pretty toxic, I guess.)
So it could be that your sense of smell has become more acute, but that things are specifically bothering you because of the hormones.
It should pass, if it's the latter.

Do you really think I'm too foolish to recognize when I'm out
maned?
You mean Margo has longer hair? Well, from your avatar, that shouldn't be hard...is this some sort of atavistic Samson thing?
I thought we weren't supposed to pick on people when they misspelt words? Kickin' 'em when they're down and all. Poor Bill, it'll probably stunt his growth.
My first thought (getting back to the original question) was pregnancy... but smoking, or rather stopping smoking, could probably improve your ability to smell. Nacho chips are gross. Sometimes they have that horrid lime powder smell. Yuck.
Not to worry

... I'm growing my hair out!
Well, you'll be maned then, soon enough.
