Assuming that boys and girls are equally likely, in a family of five children, what is the probability that...
1) exactly 4 are girls
2) atleast 3 are boys
3) at most 3 are girls
4) All the children are the same gender
5)what are the odds against having 5 boys

Here are the possible results.

5B/0G = 1
4B/1G = 5
3B/2G = 15
2B/3G = 15
1B/4G = 5
0B/5G = 1

There are 32 total combinations (2^5), so the chance of getting exactly four girls is 5/32. You can use the table above to get the rest.

Sorry, I did that table incorrectly. It should be

5B/0G = 1
4B/1G = 5
3B/2G = 10
2B/3G = 10
1B/4G = 5
0B/5G = 1
