Republicans from coast to coast are losing key races they needed to win. The presidential race will likely come down to Ohio, and its been firmly in Obama's control all night long. Cuyahoga County has only reported 9% in so far. This was where Obama gathered up most of his 200,000 + vote margin in 2008.

Too early to call in NV and IA. But Obama in the lead there.

NC, VA, CO and FL still too close to call

Both Republican candidates lost their home states. Not unexpected, but still.

Romney needs FL, VA, NC, OH and CO.

That was what he needed going in (with possible exception of CO since there were a few substitutes) , but it doesn't look good.

Electorally, both Romney and Obama are tied at 162-162, but sure wins are coming shortly for Obama: leading in Nevada, Colorado, Ohio, Florida. California, Oregon, and Washington will certainly be his as well.

@Cycloptichorn,
Yep FL goes to Obama. He is up, and most of the outstanding precincts are in Miami-Dade and Broward counties (Dem strongholds).

I think Obama will win VA too since the remaining counties are in the north. Although he does have some catching up to do still.

348 electoral votes counts as a solid mandate, right?

Nelson's old seat in Nebraska goes GOP. Not surprised by that, Kerrey was a **** candidate

@Cycloptichorn,
Kerrey was the only chance. GOP was going to win that race 60-40 no matter who the Dems put up.

Romney's chances of winning look about as dim as the EKG measuring activity in Sarah Palin's brain.
