How do I label and hide a link on A2K?

Reply Sun 21 Oct, 2012 12:36 am
I just had a super long ass link to paste, but it looks bad in my post. I have seen people make posts were all that I can see is something like "link here", but that actual address is hidden.

How do I do that?

Thank you.

@hawkeye10,
If I understand the situation, the link is visible if you hover over the colored text and look in the lower left corner of the screen. I absolutely do this if I don't know the op fairly well. The text could indicate a youtube, for example, and the translation at the bottom might come out "spamyoutodeath.com.

I haven't bothered picking up the technique, but if you use the quote button, you can pretty well see what they did to the original link.

@Butrflynet,
If you really want to have fun, you can put an image link where you've noted text ... then if you link on the photo it takes you to the article.

Code:

@ehBeth,
More fun - make the description/explanation in a font color: open the font color button, swipe the words with your cursor, choose a color.

The standard color for a link is a medium light blue, but I have trouble always seeing those, so I either go for a darker blue or red.

Shocked Shocked That's not possible! Everybody loves beets. I even went through a portion of time where the only socks I wore were beet red in color (soon after I realized the idiocy of wearing socks and ceased wearing them which has saved me several dollars).

@Sturgis,
I thank you. Your trevails with socks have not gone unnoticed as I too disdain socks in the summer. In the winter, I walk around IN socks in the house mostly (which makes my wife happy cause socks help keep a wood floor nice and shiny)

****!! that thread was one Ishared my MAMAs borscht rceipe. and Some others had theirs . I got those arrady. I thought opsso had something new.

@farmerman,
Are you calling me an opossum?

Ok, ok, I'll look up some recipes. But I ain't no judge of beet cuisine. On the other hand, I follow batches of food blogs and there may be something interesting on one of those.

If I find some, I'll make links with pretty colors..

@farmerman,
So, here are some beet recipes, none for borscht as farmer's recipe seems great.
