Many people express views against Obama without being hateful bigots.

Don't be so modest. There are lots of things that make you a racist.

@jennifermarie618,

Obviously the reason I stated I'm a libertarian is to show I don't have a bias on either side.
I think it's ok to have bias, still be a Lib. The thing is, your views on one issue must lie mainly on one side and those of the opposite on another. Furthermore they can be very strong before you're not entitled to the entitlement. Only thing is, so rare today, the honest-to-God Lib is so rare. Typically one adopts one side or the other even though some of its tenets offend

….On the other hand if you are serious and would like to know about libertarianism I'd be glad to educate you on our philosophy
Thank you Jen but I've already looked it up and find it sort of vague. For instance would somebody having opinions on both sides but very strongly still qualify as a Lib

On the other hand I'm interested in your particular def so let's hear it

Libertarians view this country as our forefathers did.

you do tend to clump libertarians as if they're a group of people with the same beliefs. It's not the reality out in the world.

She does that with America's forefathers, too. The constitutional convention was not a bunch of libertarians. It would, after all, have treated Obama as three-fifths of a human being for census purposes, and would not have minded half of America's states enslaving him. Compare that to the English, which had abolished slavery in their home country years before the Yankee rebellion. Libertarians, my arm!

race matters a great deal in America, so there is nothing wrong with mentioning dislike or hatred of a man and also mentioning his race. racism is more like " those niggers suck because...."..a blanket not true condemnation of an entire race.

this thread is a great example of how far we have come during my lifetime, of how little it takes now to trip the racism wire. we have actually gone too far, to where we heap scorn on entirely reasonable speech.
