How many of you realize that our congress lets the military spend 1.1 trillion, with a t not a b, per year rather than the 650 billion that is the popular politically expediant number that is touted by our politicians?

I never gave much thought to the actual price tag, but there are some amazing weapons on the horizon.

We've been testing Mach 6 hypersonic cruise missiles, which will be able to go screaming into a large country and pulverize all their early warning radars and satellite control facilities, effectively blinding them in the very first moments of a war.

And we've also been testing unmanned medium-range bombers that can land and take off from aircraft carriers (they look a lot like a baby B2 bomber).

After we successfully blind a hostile country with our Mach 6 cruise missiles, our aircraft carriers will be able to bomb them at their leisure from the opposite side of the ocean, all without risking any American lives.

The next war is going to be cool. Cool Cool Cool

I'm just very, very happy that, given my current age, I will probably not be around to witness or "enjoy" it.

@oralloy,
Texas governor Rick Perry intentionally executed an innocent man in 2004.

Rick Perry belongs in a federal supermax prison.

Unmanned stealth bombers are going to be awesome!

And those Mach 6 cruise missiles will be able to glide past defenses and take out a target before it even has a chance to register that there's incoming fire.

Unmanned bombers are indeed disposable in a way. With no people on board, if the enemy happens to shoot one down it is much less of a loss.

I know we suffered relatively low casualty rates among our pilots already, but this is going to totally revolutionize the bombardment of other countries. We're going to be able to pound them to rubble without a single American flying over their territory.

And given the long range and refueling capability of these unmanned bombers, even the aircraft carriers that launch them can stay well back from the carnage.

That sentence just took my breath away. How in hell do you have a "pleasant conversation" about weapons of destruction? Oh, well, in hell, maybe . . .

Well, first, you'd need to get JTT to stop being a creep.

Then you have an enjoyable talk about the weapons.

Let's try this:

You know, once we have those unmanned bombers online, we will not even need to have pilots on our aircraft carriers anymore.

Since the bombers will all be flown by remote signal, the pilots can fly their missions from the middle of Kansas.

The only people you need actually present on the aircraft carriers are the people who service and reload the bombers after each mission.

I'm not the lowlife, semen sucking piece of excrement that delights in his country committing war crimes and terrorizing innocents the world over.

I'm not that same lowlife, semen sucking piece of excrement that delights in his country stealing the food from starving kids around the world.

I'm not that same lowlife, semen sucking piece of excrement that delights in his country causing the deaths of millions the world over.

So go ahead and keep posting your demented propaganda, Oralboy. Spew dat Uncle Sam jism far and wide.

Probably no other organization does more to keep us all safe. And they do it without ever getting a bit of recognition for their efforts.

We should increase their budget.

@oralloy,
Bull ****. No other organization has gotten us into more foreign wars than these unregulated spooks. No one even knows where the money goes because of "national security". A cover for them to take as much money for themselves as they want too.

The CIA is a loose cannon of a governmental organization. It gets virtually no Congressional oversight because any time somebody wants to start asking embarrassing questions, all these jokers have to do is to say, "Oh, that's so highly classified we can't possibly discuss is. National security, you know."

National security, my royal arse. They won't answer questions because if these dudes ever gave a straight answer, it would show two things (not always independent of each other, either): (1) gross incompetence in the "work" they supposedly do; and (2)a total disregard for what in most other places passes for human decency and a respect for the laws of the land in which one is operating. The CIA is a thousand-pound embarrassment to Uncle Sam and should have been disbanded long before the USSR collapsed. They weren't doing their job then.
