Right. Because it's standard police procedure to monitor your internet traffic once they think you have confessed to a murder. They teach that in police 101. It's taught in the same class where they teach police to monitor your texting after they clock you doing 100 in a 45 mph zone.

@parados,
Once they get a warrant or court order, sure, all is possible for the sake of piling up evidence against you.

@Val Killmore,
Because as everyone knows, police are much more likely to find physical evidence in the virtual world.

@djjd62,
I wouldn't worry too much about shooting that dude in Reno. But driving over the speed limit in Nevada? Man, that's serious. You might wanna make a clean breast of it and throw yourself on the mercy of the court. Some judges can be real understanding.

@parados,
Electronic tracks are as much helpful as physical evidence to find out the motive, and other small but important details. Recently, computers and online activities have begun to appear in more criminal prosecutions.

If this wasn't a joke, and say you really did kill a person and stupid enough to post this, and you accesses this forum on the internet from your home, then they can easily track your ISP address from your email address, and sniff your real address out easily.

Let see as no one would have a clue where this murder might had occur who would had the power to apply for a warrant to get the ISP information from Robert?

Murder for the most part is not a federal crime so that would leave out the FBI and such one would assume.

Oh I am sorry I did not see the claim of Reno for the murder site.

In any case we all can hope that Robert is a person who would not turn over that information without a warrant.

Also a statement on this board without any other reason to give it credit seems not to raise to the level needed to get a warrant but I would not bet my freedom on that opinion.

Next you can post from an open wifi hot spot or used tor from home for that matter and have a email address that can not be trace back to you either.

Let see they break down my door and seized my computers and run into a little program call truecrypt and at least in the US that is likely the end of the matter

@BillRM,
Ya or a cheaper solution is to just buy a cheap laptop and always use the public wifi hotspot, and if you're suspicious of someone trailing you, be prepared to pound it with a sledge hammer and put the so mentioned parts of the laptop in the nearest oven.

A sledge hammer cost a hell of a lot more then a free open source program such as Trucrypt and is a pain to carry around.

I always in fact travel outside the country with a cheap netbook that is completely back up before I leave on my trip. A 100 dollars off ebay or less!!!!!!

I had zero plans to surrender the keys to customers if ask for it on my returns just on general principals.

Sadly no one had yet ask to search my netbook after many trips.

@Val Killmore,
BillRM is very paranoid and obsessive about computer security.

He also thinks that viewing Child Pornography is a victimless crime.

He assures us that these two things are not connected in any way.

@izzythepush,
LOL every once in a blue moon I clicked on a postings of your to see if you might had posted a message of some worth and as always found that the likelihood of you doing so is the same as a group of monkeys turning out an awarding winning novel.

Oh for the record once more I happen to think the punishments for CP in your nation {UK} is about right and I share the same opinion as the majority of sitting Federal judges that the Federal sentencing guidelines are insane.

In the US you can serve more time for having a picture of a child being harm then for raping that child.

I'm sure some judges would be happy to see a clean breast. Maybe even 2 of them.

It helps in case the perp decides to try and bust out.

Anyway, it's a titillating subject.

@BillRM,
When I put people on ignore, they stay on ignore. Either keep me on ignore or respond to me, this pseudo ignore is pathetic.

I note that you don't challenge anything I say about you. You are paranoid about computer security, you do think viewing child ponography is a victimless crime, and you expect the rest of us to accept that there's no connection between the two.

For the record, I am not remotely interested in the opinion of a semi-literate buffoon. Construct a basic sentence and I might listen to what you have to say.
