I talked to Mr. Noddy's Visiting Nurse this morning and she feels that he could stay alone (and be checked on by friends and family) if I go to the hospital again.
This is a great comfort. I'm terribly tired and for a little TLC would be willing to put up with a television-addicted roommate.
Perhaps this next time, I'll be more organized.
TLC for you sounds damn fine to me.

Noddy, perhaps you could keep a small suitcase packed and at the ready just in case.
with a book selection..
Wafts of TLC...
and a few little ready packaged snacks for hospital ill-suited timings...
and maybe some ear plugs for Mrs. Noisy next door...
Yup. When a hospital stay with a TV addicted roomy looks good, it's probably time to go. But with all the proper amenities of course. Sending hugs and at least virtual TLC to Noddy.
There's something to be said to having a get-away bag packed and ready to go.
<nods>
books
cheese crackers
ear plugs
sleep mask
comfy jammies and socks
maybe a little ipod with Noddy music
As soon as I organize Mr. Noddy's emergency contact telephone numbers; the dog's pills; and my overnight bag, I'm calling the ambulance.
I'm very tired of being tired.
Indeed.
Excellent decision. Hope it provides the healing respite you need.
Oh dear Noddy.. I hope you get rest. I hope you get answers to solving your health issues and I hope you get some much needed peace and quiet.
As I share space with my best howling friend, you will have a candle on our table..
ditto to the concerns and well wishes expressed by soz and shewolf.
Take care, dear lady, and be well.
Glad you're taking care of yourself, Noddy.
Mental Decline
How about a couple of Jane Austen novels? And have you a Walkman or CD player - a couple of tapes or CDs might be good when you're between rests.
Anyway - good luck in the hospital - put all your energies into doing nothing energetic.
We'll be thinking of you a lot.
Rest easy, Noddy dear, and let the medics do their thing!
Noddy....rest girl...have a rest - let the doctors and nurses look after you. We'll be thinking about you and sending you healing wishes. Hope your son is able to update us on your progress. Lots of love and gentle hugs to you xox
I'm glad to hear it! Finally, some care for Noddy!!!
(Don't forget to pack your dominion in that overnight bag.)
OK - well, our Noddy is in the hospital and we hope being given TLC and having some rest.... wishing her well and sending love...
Phoenix - how are you? Are you feeling better now from your cold?
Foxfyre - how are you? and you sister - how's she doing?
I noticed Walter on the boards again. Walter? How are your ladies doing?
Izzie- Thanks for asking. I have been in the house since last Friday. I don't have any more fever, but I am still a bit congested, and am tired, although I have been able to do a bit in the house for the last two days.
I don't know what I had, but it sure was a stinkeroo!
