what made my dog pass away

trying to find out what happened to my 7yr chihuahua, she passed away a week ago, she was in perfect health as far as we knew, never showed signs of anything being wrong. she went out to use the bathroom with our other chihuahua was running around then when they called them to come in my son said she was walking a little off and was having trouble coming up the stairs he went to pick her up and she growled at him which is something she would never do ever, then she ran in the house her self and went under the table where she always went, a few minutes later my boyfriend heard a strange sound and thought the dogs were fighting when he went in the kitchen she was laying on the floor shaking with blood pouring out her ear, some from the nose and mouth, he said he picked her up so she wouldnt hurt her self banging her head on the floor she sounded like she couldnt breathe in with in a matter of minutes she was gone. i just cant get over that it doesnt seem right. they were not alone outside, she did not get hit by a car and she didnt fall. my heart is broken not knowing what happened. my vet has no answer for me, they said maybe heart failure or something in the brain. they never even looked at here either, when i brought her there i had her wrapped up and brought her there to be cremated, i wish i would have had them look at her but i wasnt thinking cause i was to sad and couldnt even talk to anyone. i called the next day and asked if they could do an autopsy but it was to late cause she had aleady been frozen. i have been searching online hoping for an answer the only thing that sounds like what happened is maybe a brain aneurysm. i did question something else, the 2 dogs were fighting the last 2 weeks, they would just start for no reason, we had seperated them from each other when we wernt around cause i was afraid one might get hurt, so my question is could it be possible the other chihuahua did something that killed her, the one that passed away is the the one that was always pinned down when they would fight, they are both only 5 pound dogs, is that even possible a dog that size could hurt the other one? if anyone maybe has an answer or have heard of anything like that happening please let me know, i wish i could have some peace to know what happened.

@jazmine76,
Can you take the body to a vet for a necropsy?

@jazmine76,
Quite sorry to hear about your loss.

It's likely the dog died from some kind of congenital defect then from an internal injury from the other dog where some kind of symptoms should have been notable to anybody paying attention.

Did you get the dog from a questionable source? A pet store that might themselves obtain the animal from one of those infamous puppy mills? Certain full bred dogs from these puppy factories tend to have genetic diseases because of bad breeding practices.

@tsarstepan,
thanks.. she didnt have any injuries, the second they would fight i seperated them, thats why i was asking can another little dog the same size hurt the other one from jumping on top of them, she isnt heavy i cant see her doing any damage but you just never know. i am a stay home mom so these dogs are hardly ever alone, i would of noticed if something seemed wrong, i left for an hour and a half and she was fine before i left, and they wernt alone when i left.
i had her for 7 yrs i bought her of a neighbor that bought 3 from a breeder. she has the 2 brothers but i moved so i havent talked to her to see if she has had any problems, i do know they still have them. she was a great loving dog, breaks my heart how that could just happen. thanks for the input.

@jazmine76,
I'm sorry you won't be able to get better closure. It does sound like a preexisting condition of some sort. Dogs can have brain bleeds, seizures, that sort of thing, too. Heartbreaking, but that can happen.
