SOS what does the second half of this sentence mean ?
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. ~ Herm Albright . Could you explain the second half of this sentence in plain English?

@Glenchesnut,
The second half of the sentence is already written in plain English. But, to belabor the corpse of the horse, having a positive attitude is worth the effort because it will annoy a significant number of people--or so the author claims.

@Setanta,
oh yeh. I submit, as a fine example of same, FRANK APISA. His new, totally unflappable self (as opposed to the Frank of old), Is driving spendi nd another nutcase over the wall.
They are arguing wit Frank about , in my estimation, separating the fly **** fom the pepper. Frank is being almost avunculr and the other guys are being bat=**** crazy.

Course Im rooting for Frank.

Illustrative of how much you know about how language works, Farmer.

How does a guy who purports to be an academic have such a profound disdain for the truth?

Farmer's [the academic] motto: I support anyone who argues with those I can't defend my positions against.

Frank's "plan" is working as well as your plan did in the Pet Peeves of English thread and a few other threads, Set. Your plan worked so well that just as you were ready to deliver the coup d' grace you took a powder and forced your considerable bulk into a little hole in the ground.

In this, you were and are just like Farmerman - two sniveling cowards. At least Frank hasn't risen to your level, ... yet.

Are you going to be sharing an echo chamber with Farmer and Set or are you opting for your own?

Don't let the screen door hit you, Joe.

@Rockhead,
I agree with you, Rock. Joe, Farmer and Setanta are cowards. But really, should you be pointing fingers? You're as good as anyone at avoiding the difficult issues.

What have you done except try to deflect attention from the FACTS which clearly show that the US has been guilty of innumerable war crimes, ongoing and relentless terrorism, the theft of numerous countries' wealth?

What's one of your famous enemas worth, Rocky?

@Rockhead,
How come you didn't note that Setanta and Farmerman were off thread in their comments, Rocky? Are you afflicted with hypocrisy too?
