If I want to say that science cannot solve all problems, is there a single word that can express this meaning?
Science is not all-powerful? all-purpose? omnipotent?
I don't know what native speaker would say in this occasion.
Could anyone tell me?
@Justin Xu,
Science is not a Panacea.
Frequently Chinese learners of English ask this question: How to replace a phrase with just one word. This is not always possible.
@OmSigDAVID,
Is a panacea not a cure-all? I'll have a look in the good book.
How about omniscient? (All-knowing)
If you want to say that science cannot solve all problems, say "science cannot solve all problems". Not everything can be said with one word. It's fine as it stands. It expresses the meaning you want it to express. Some things you just don't need to worry about.
@MontereyJack,
A universal panacea.
But Monterey Jack is quite right....you can just say it. Science cannot solve all problems.
@Justin Xu,
panacea is the word you are looking for.
