@Finn dAbuzz,
So, if not for Reid's theatrics, Romney would've already released more tax info? Surely you don't even believe that. True or not, what Reid said just shined a light on how shady Romney's personal finances appear.

You can pin your hopes on the Ryan bump and dreams of debating glory - good luck with that.
But all Romney did by choosing the Ayn Rand pin-up was make it easier for the American people to see clearly that your side is for the rich, and doesn't give a damn about the poor and middle class.

The thing about Ryan is that he's pretty much been playing to Republican audiences only. When he starts trying to play to the other three quarters of the country and starts talking about the things actually in the economic pachages he's proposed, Romney'-Ryans' poll numbers are going to go south very very quickly.

Ryan: vouchers for medicare--there goes the senior vote.
Ryan: cut Pell grants and support for higher education--there go the under 25's.
Ryan: cut back aid to struggling state and local governments--that's where the current employment cuts is coming from--there go a few million state and local government workers. There goes the infrastructure.
Ryan: more tax cuts for the wealthy than even Romney has supported--there go the 70% of the country who think expiration of the Bush era tax cuts for the wealthy is the right idea for the country.

Really, who's gonna be left to vote for Romney-Reagan. As soon as Ryan starts talking in the VP debate, he's gonna kill the ticket.

@snood,
Looks like they're working towards another Great Depression. There will be longer food-lines this time, because the population of this country in 1930 was 133 million, and it's now 313 million.

@MontereyJack,
Those homeless, underfed, conservatives will be voting for Romney-Ryan, and they're going to win!

Haven't you been hearing the enthusiasm of the republicans saying Ryan is going to straighten out this country, because Obama has been such a failure.

Standing with Romney at his side, Ryan told reporters he feels he and Romney have the opportunity to "fix things once and for all" and that he was "excited" to "help" Romney do that.

And exactly how do they plan to "fix things once and for all?" We're missing some details - as usual.

That's what I keep thinking the GOP is aiming toward. Cut social services, eliminate business (including banking) regulations.

Sit back and wait, and we're looking at 1929 again.

@DrewDad,
From the Fark thread on the Ryan pick:

Quote:
Who can we use to counterbalance the guy that wants to tax the poor?

I know, the guy that wants to take Medicare away from the elderly!

GOP: the party of unabashed evil.

How do they plan to "fix" things, you ask?

From Dictionary.com, the definition of "fix":
Quote:
to spay or castrate

R&R have got a LOT of money, and a great big pair of snips. Watch out for your cojones, America.

@cicerone imposter,
We just have to vote for them before we can get the details,just like Obamacare. Wasn't it a dem that said we had to vote for it before we could find out what was in it.

You're implying that the debate will be about the actual consequences of the actual proposals in Ryan's budget. But the George Bush II campaign in 2000 shows that you can win an election based on distractions. They could do it again.

@Thomas,
The most recent Ryan budget doesn't affect SS and Medicare for those over 55. That will be their fig leaf for the seniors. You got yours so no need to worry about it. We are then going to lower you taxes to screw everyone else.

It's what the Tea Party wants.

The argument will be "destruction" vs "it doesn't affect anyone currently there." The second argument might be harder to make to make but many will want to believe it because it fits their world view.

What makes you think anybody can believe what Romney promises?

Do you trust habitual liars? I don't.

@mysteryman,
What a stupid q; it's the degree to which they lie. Some lies are more important than others. I'm sure you have never considered such issues in your life.

How did you arrive at the conclusion that I don't trust any politician?

My brother is a politician, and is a city councilman in his city. He also served two terms in the California state legislature, and was also the mayor of his town.

Don't you ever think before posting stupid ****?

@cicerone imposter,
Now that the London Olympics is over, and Romney's gaffe has turned out to be wrong in every way, how can anybody expect his presidency to be any better?

Quote:
LONDON—For the second day in a row, Mitt Romney's visit to London was marred by controversy, as the British media seized on comments the GOP candidate made suggesting he found London's preparations for the 2012 Summer Olympics "disconcerting."

So, Romney's comments about Obama's performance is reliable or not?
How prepared is Romney to run our country? It's a bit more difficulty than running any olympic "games." The games are over in two weeks; the president "runs" the country for four years, and a bit more complicated.

Romney has already proved he's not ready for prime time in foreign affairs.

Is he ready for prime time president?
