You would think the conservatives here would be expressing outrage at the USSC's decision. It was, and is, a complete rejection of the right of a State to conduct its own affairs and this particular affair which was an election, the very basis of participatory democracy.
Oh, maybe that gives us a clue. The one thing these modern conservatives do not want is greater participation in elections. Which brings us back to the OP and the cartoon.
I still believe it promotes the idea that participating in elections, voting, is a fool's game.
I reject that idea.
