Why should Americans help observe QE II's jubilee?

@contrex,
They're not having our extra day off though. Some things are worth fighting for.

Funny follow up line, Snood!

I use to like Trump a lot...especially when he told Rosie O'Donnell off. But lately he has been acting like a chump (especially with the birther bullshit).

I never even looked in on the show, so can't give an opinion. I've soured on the Reality stuff after Adam Lambert lost on American Idol.

I do, however, love So You Think You Can Dance...and highly recommend it. In auditions right now; coming on soon.

There is no evidence that "the Yanks" love the royal family in significant numbers. There's just a vocal minority whom the press hunt down whenever the subject comes up. If one subtracts the ex-pats from that bunch, there's even less reason to assume that "the Yanks" love the royal family.

I see that Setanta is sufficiently prickled by the term "Yank" to enclose it in I'm-so-up-myself sniffy quotes. Must be a Yank.

I see Contrex wishes he had a tool to irritate "Yanks." Sad case, really.

One of the reasons that there are so many brain dead folks, Frank. You know, those people who can't face the truth.

Close enough Malvolio, and you weren't complaining when we were talking about Liz's undercrackers.

@izzythepush,
No, not even close at all. Is that best shot you've got in your pathetic quiver? I have no idea what you mean by undercrackers--i assume it's some sort of witless slang from your benighted little island. It's really sad to see how desparate you are to pick a fight with me.

@Walter Hinteler,
This reminds me of the 1977 Jubilee. There was lots of fanfare then, and a brilliant excuse for a party. The Golden Jubilee was a more subdued affair, the Queen's popularity had gone down following the death of Diana.

This is different in that there's a real sense of history now, the only other monarch to have had a Diamond Jubilee is Victoria, and people are thinking in similar terms.

I'm taking the little boy to Winchester tomorrow for fun and games in the city centre.

@Setanta,
It's not hard to pick a fight with you. You're always pissed off about something.

I think you're just jealous that you're not a queen.

@izzythepush,
No, there's nothing that important going on here. This subject doesn't anger me. You've conveniently missed my original post. You just wish you were that signiicant, but you're not, because you're just a . . .

Clown.

@Setanta,
And you're

constantly, but a time-pleaser; an affectioned ass,
that cons state without book and utters it by great
swarths: the best persuaded of himself, so
crammed, as he thinks, with excellencies, that it is
his grounds of faith that all that look on him love
him;

Are you sure he isn't? He does seem rather prone to hissy fits.
