So, when is the host country (Great Britain) going to step up, and start garnering some medals here? They'd better start raking in the Sailing, Equestrian and Fencing medals soon...

@wheel158,
If they don't they'll be smashing a rule that's held in place for my entire sporting memory. But if anyone can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory its the Poms. Gawd love em.

@wheel158,
Yeah, picking the UK is what I agonized over the most. I saw some predictions for 62 and 67 medals. I'm counting on them living up to the hype and beating the Chinese women, but they're off to a slow start...

Thanks to markr's sage advice, I've managed to nearly automate my Excel scoring sheet (Excel can auto-import data from websites too).

I setup the automation last night, and my automated scoring matched the manual scoring. But since I was using Yahoo! for the automatic medal count, I had to change Chinese Taipei to Taiwan.

I went through Yahoo's country listing, and made sure the chosen country names matched, so the automatic scoring would work. The only other difference I noticed was that tabormom chose Algiers (the city) instead of Algeria. I've fixed on my spreadsheet, but wanted other scorers to know.

@wheel158,
I've found the error and fixed it. There may have been an error in the NBC medal table, since I did a cross check before posting, or I may have just missed my mistake when doing so. Anyway, the corrected version from markr should be official, and now matches my scoring.

Congrats to our new leader, tsartepan!

I've double checked with the medal table, and I think all the bugs have been worked out of my spreadsheet programming, so this should be accurate, but I'm sure someone will let me know if there are any errors.

@tgordon92,
These scores match mine, but for some reason, I only have 149 for Ticomaya. I'm not sure if my score is wrong or what, but here's what I have for Ticomaya:

Germany 20
United States-Men 35
Canada 4
Japan 25
South Korea 24
Brazil 9
Czech Republic 0
Jamaica 0
Poland 3
Romania 13
Greece 0
Israel 0
Liechtenstein 0
Mexico 6
South Africa 10
149

@markr,
You're right; it should be 149. I had the formula for Ticomaya's score for Greece pointing to India's score. It's fixed now.
