That's 9-year-old Josef Miles' simple explanation for why he held up a notepad that said "GOD HATES NO ONE" as supporters of the tiny Westboro Baptist Church staged another small demonstration featuring their signs that say God hates homosexuals.

If half of us had half the courage at his age to pull this small feat of moral strength... what a better world we'd have.

@tsarstepan,
There is zero evidence that the young boy's god hates no one (other than blind assertion)...and lots of evidence (the text is fairly clear) that the god does hate people who engage in homosexual conduct...

...so I don't understand your point here?

When that old hateful clown who runs Westboro BC dies or finally ends up in jail, those sorry s.o.b.s are gonna be lost. Who would want them in their congregation. The poison is gonna take a while to dissipate.

I don't think the point of the story has anything to do with claims and counter-claims about the putative nature of a deity......I think the real point is that this kid...whose views about said putative deity may or may not hold up to logical analysis...had the guts to get out there and dispute the hateful message of these Westboro fanatics.

That is absolutely correct, dlowan. I should have included a comment about the admiration I have for young people who stand up for what they consider correct.
