@Butrflynet,
I think I read diatomaceous earth is not good for pets, thus yard animals (don't trust me). Back when I had the black widow in the kitchen, panic city, some day that will be funny, an a2ker suggested it, but said keep it away from pets. (Might have been JJorge, or not). I still have it on my to-buy list, in case, but now would be way careful with Katy around.
Ex and I used sevin for fleas back in the seventies/early eighties and I recall reading that isn't the greatest stuff either.

I used Advantage, or some name like that, back in No/California, for Pacco, but the fleas weren't overwhelming in my area.

Here, so far so good. If fleas descend that would be baaaad news, so I sympathize a lot. I've been told they don't make it here, but now I forget which people said that. Dys and the vet, I think, but I'm not positive.

@chai2,
thats ok, I struggle to remember roland and otis.

but really, how many folks have a roland and an otis...?

sometimes I wish I could forget bubba as well.

she is not a very good kitty.

but she's mine...

and she doesn't eat much.

I had simi.

she was incredibly crazy. she was lulu's sister, and it was like all the sweetness went into one, and all the nutso **** went in the other.

I loved her, the way you love anything/one you've had since they were born, but she was bat **** certifiable.

Funny thing, she was the first pet that was all mine that I had to put down, and I totally lost it. Burst out crying radomly for weeks afterwards.

@chai2,
my sister had two cats when she first went on her own. sisters.

Lucy (short for Lucifer) was certifiable. and mean. and short-lived.

Gus went 16 years and spent some of her last few with me...

update:

the harts stuff is now lasting only about 2 weeks. maybe...

I think I am going to have to bite the bullet and get the front line.

mr vw swears he saw it at sam's.

can anybody verify that before I waste $10 on a membership?

@Rockhead,
I believe you can buy it there. I’ve seen it advertised on the internet.

When I go back to the Vet for more Comfortis I will not be getting the combo flea/heart worm medication. I’ve found the combo pill doesn’t last as long.

No man! Get that Sentry Fiproguard!

Much less, same active ingredient as vet stuff!

@Rockhead,
Hartz brand flea meds I don't find to be an effective based on friend's usage and consumer/pet-owner info. My personal choice is K9 Advantix II. I've been using it on Brady for 3 years (6-yr-old Border Collie) and I swear by it. My sister switched on her little Toy Poodle and she finds it to be more effective than Hartz.

My experience and research says that combo pills are less effective. I use Interceptor for parasite-heartwoerm.
