@EqualityFLSTPete,
I am thinking of buying a United States representative, and fortunate for me, there is always one for sale... It would be worth every thing I own to have one with the lungs to suck a bedsheet up my butt...

@Setanta,

I once briefly worked for a dairy goat breeder in North Carolina. The females are sold based on their milk production over a ten month period. The males are sold based on the milk production of the three most productive females they have sired. So, to establish those figures, the goats are regularly milked. However, you can't sell goat's milk or goat's milk products in North Carolina (or couldn't then, in the early 1980s). So, although the family used goat's milk, and made some cheese, they had to dump 95% or more of the milk.

Lots of goat cheese here....and the milk is in health food shops.
I loathe and detest all goat effusions.
The kids are way cute, though.

@jcboy,
They don't stay small and cute for very long, I suppose you can always eat him later.

@ehBeth,
many people like the flavor of goat milk and cheeses because of the "goatey" flavor. Ive been turned off by the smell that arises from around a goat fram whenever the bucks are in heat. You can smell that smell for miles and it was enpugh to trurn me off to the above dairy products.

On occasion I will eat lamb (well after our lambing season) but I cannot eat goat, (the gamey smell)

@farmerman,
I have never eaten goat but I do like goat cheese, lamb has never been a favorite of mine either.

@jcboy,
Don't you remember the couple that had the two goats next door to John and Steve? One got out of the yard and someone reported them, they were forced to get rid the their pet goats.

@EqualityFLSTPete,
actually I ike lamb grilled, usually its a late summer dinner. I can not ever eat goat because of the gamey flavor it has.

It became omnivorous, like a goat.

@dlowan,
LOL, well I’m definitely not getting a pet goat, I gave it a lot of thought and not a good idea. But that doesn’t mean if I had gotten one that I wouldn't have given him a good loving home.

Maybe sometime in the future when we move to the country. Couple goats, horse, a few pigs and a cow or two.
Cool

@jcboy,
Whew!!!

On second thought, A2K has been awfully dull lately. A thread about goats destroying everything in sight would have been very entertaining!

Not at your expense though, jcboy. Embarrassed

@EqualityFLSTPete,
I've eaten goat at indian restaurants, liked it. Admittedly the dishes were full of flavor in the recipe.
Like goat cheese generally - most familiar with Cypress Grove when it was run by the woman who started it.
Like sheep cheese, such as sardo dolce (sardinia) and pecorino romano (especially fresh).
Like lamb but feel torn re eating it. Doesn't matter, I never see it my most local markets. Did used to like roast lamb at a certain venice (ca) french restaurant.

@CalamityJane,
I would guess so -

I meant indians from India.
