Can we please have thousands of more idiotic acronyms so that everyone can appear to be wise, in the know? SCOTUS and POTUS have got to be the most idiotic of the lot. I strongly suspect that these acronyms were invented by knuckle-draggers in law enforcement or the military.
From a long way away (admittedly) I have no idea of what some US A2Kers are talking about (even though I do my best!) when they use these (& so many other!) acronyms.

it's as ridiculous as the (insert letter here)-Word phenomena, we have the N-word, the R-Word, 2 F-Words, 2 C-Words and a host of others
I don't know about April Fools, but I'm pretty sure it's a joke.

Only LOL is an acronym, the other two are just initials. To be an acronym it has to make a word, NASA is an acronym because you pronounce it Nasa. CIA isn't because you pronounce it See Eye Ay.
Incidently Scotus and Potus sound like they're related to Wingus and Dingus.
