This reminds me of a long gone restaurant in the older chinatown area of Los Angeles, on San Pedro Street, I think: Man Fook Low. At the time, we thought the name was funny. I don't remember the food, but that was in my early days of trying out chinese food - I think I liked it, at least enough to try more chinese food.
