The piddling sums won and lost at the mah-jongg parlors didn't concern the city's vice squad. They were more interested in the gambling dens, where whole weekly paychecks and more were regularly wob or lost at the big games of fan tan and dominoes.

What does "whole weekly fee" mean?

A whole weekly paycheque would be whatever the gambler earned in a week at his job.
