Obama's sewer main break in an Elementary school

Portable toilets, washing stations, hand sanitizer and bottled water were delivered to Jeffries Elementary after a sewer main broke late this morning.

Staff at the 500-student school at 4051 S. Scenic Ave. first reported problems at 11 a.m. but the cause of the break -- on the sewer line located between the school building and where it connects to the Public Works sewer system on Scenic -- wasn’t immediately known.

District spokeswoman Teresa Bledsoe said the city was notified of the problem and crews started working to repair the break. An outside contractor was also called in.
