w-e-e-e-l, y'know, just because she's highly intelligent doesn't mean she doesn't have some of the same tastes as most 13-year-old adolescents. It would be a mistake to underestimate Gracie's level of intelligence but it would equally be a mistake to overestimate her level of emotional maturity.

I was born in New York, although i was brought up elsewhere. I can "do" the accent, but it is not "native" to me. I once read that if you are in Times Square, nine out of ten people you encounter there are not native New Yorkers. Makes me wonder how many people you encounter are putting on the accent.

Very similar in a lot of ways to London. There is a school of thought that London has more in common with New York than any city in Europe, and that New York has more in common with London than any city in America.
