RFK's assassination had the most emotional impact for me.
I was in 9th grade and he was my choice for President.
I well remember that night.
I deemed Robert Kennedy further to the left than his brother.
He was an enemy of America.
He was an enemy of personal freedom; he was a liberal, a dangerous liberal.

Well, you got one out of three right

Finn dAbuzz wrote:
Of course, WWI was going to transpire with or without the Arch Duke's demise.
I respectfully dissent from all that certainty.

Dissent noted

Considering how much of a turning point the years 1965-1975 represented to American history,
it's interesting to consider how differently things would have turned out if JFK and survived the attempt to kill him.
Yes; we 'd have had a more intensely leftist leader.

Than LBJ?

Finn dAbuzz wrote:
I suppose for any assassination to be tragic in a historical sense an argument needs to be made that the opportunity for good or great things was extinguished along with the person's life. I tend to think that a continuation of the strong and largely principled leadership of MLK could have led to a more comprehensive and balanced societal advancement for African-Americans.
We know from the recently released Jackie Kennedy tapes,
that your idol, Bobby, did not join in your approval of King.
She quoted him as saying that he was "a terrible man" as I remember.

RFK was my choice for president when I was in 9th grade and I suppose it would be accurate to suggest he was, at the time, an idol of mine. He no longer holds that position in my esteem, but he hasn't assumed the position of World's Greatest Villain either.

I don't know that I really care what RFK or Jackie thought about MLK.

If as, I believe, Bobby's dissing Martin to Jackie had to do with his extra-marital adventures, the irony is beyond striking. It also doesn't change the opinion I expressed about MLK's likely legacy had he not been murdered.

Thank you, David, for once again indicting yourself as a soul-less, brain-less and somewhat less than human tub of excremental idiocy. I don't need to argue with you; you indict yourself.

Joking aside, I will always support the autonomy of laissez faire free enterprize and pure Individualism.
That is what government in America was created to abide; that has a MONOPOLY on legitimacy.

Liberalism is cheating.

Listen to me, you dumb, arrogant, ignorant, chauvinistic SON OF A BITCH. You even intimate anything about me and a Commie connection one more time, asshole, and I will come to NYC better armed than you and find you.

Now, listen!!! I am going to tell you something about myself that is no business of yours whatsoever, but that just might put things into better persepective for you. The reason I am an American (and a far better American than YOU, Jingoist) is because near the end of World War II my family and I were fortunate enough to have espaced from the Communists who took over my homeland (Latvia). I have seen the Russian brand of Communism in action with my own eyes (not from the kind of propaganda horseshit that you and your type pypically rely on0. By the time I was six years old I had probably seen more dead bodies than you've seen in your lifetime, many of them civilliansslaughtered by Russian Communist troops. For a very short time(no more than a week or so), my family and I were forced to live under a communist administration in Czheckoslovakia before being able to escape and seek refuge in the US Zone of OOccupation in Bavaria. We would have done anything to be free of any connection with Communism.

For you to accuse me of having sympathis toward anything like the Leninist/Stalinist/Maoist brand of Communism makes my blood boil and I want to hit you in the face, you asshole, with all the strength left in my 72-year-old arm.

I have served this country, my America, as an officer in the US armed forces. I have worked as a contractor for the US Department of State. Believe me, I know far more about Communism than you do, ****-for-brains.

Now that I've told you things you have no right to or need to know, I will tell you this: I love America. I love what this country stands for. It is jerks like you that make us unpopular in the rest of the world. You, David, are the classic example of the so-called 'ugly American'. You excuse the actions of a monstrous dictator on the grounds that he opposed Communism. Well, lah-di-dah and hand that man another kewpie bear.

You have no soul, David, and Deb (dlowan) had it quite right when she said that you are one sick puppy.

@Rockhead,
Thx, Rock.
10 paces is way too close. I'm a much better shot than that.

I understand that when "Wild Bill" Hickok shot Davis Tutt in a famous gunfight in the town square of Springfield, MO, it is estimated he was standing about 75 yards from his opponent. Both men fired at about the same time but Tutt's shot went way wild while Hickok calmly rested his gunhand (right hand) on his left forearm to get a more accurate sight- picture and drilled Tutt right through the ole ticker.

Whole affair was over disputed ownership of a pocket watch. I think my beef has more merit.

O, a challenge! U think that I will be intimidated by u,
and Rocky joins u in that opinion. That is an error. U failed.
OK: my answer to your challenge is that your posts
have been such as to evoke the approval of leftists like Marx, Stalin, Mao n Pol Pot, in your anti-Individualism. How 's that ?

If u were not about to embrace the Founders' spirit of American freedom
then Y did u not choose a less freedom-oriented country??? A socialist one?? Y not?

I accept your characterization, as a good compliment; thank u.

According to u, where did my propaganda err??
Were my remarks too unkind toward the commies??

Your posts in support of such pinkos as the Kennedys
fail to support your present semi-hysterical allegations.
Your alleged exposure to communist slavery and communist murders
don 't appear to have had much effect upon u, so far as your posts have shown.

Lustig Andrei wrote:

Such sentiments have been noticeably absent from your posts in this forum heretofore.
Do u claim to support Individualism?? or do u openly espouse collectivism ?

Lustig Andrei wrote:

ASSUMING that any of your allegations r true: u don't show it in your writings.
Your leftism seems friendlier to the other side from which u claim to have fled, insofar as implying rejection of American libertarianism.

Lustig Andrei wrote:

Nothing in your writings has shown that yet (unless I missed something).
America stands for FREEDOM; personal liberty.
From your posts u don 't appear to approve of that.

Lustig Andrei wrote:

That 's OK. There is no problem with that at all.

Lustig Andrei wrote:
You, David, are the classic example of the so-called 'ugly American'.
HE was the hero of that book.
U reveal more of your ignorance.
I accept that as another nice compliment, in addition to the fact that I really AM an ugly American.

Lustig Andrei wrote:

No; that 's a lie.
I don 't "excuse" his actions: I lovingly embrace them with the most earnest respect, admiration and GRATITUDE, as
all decent people of the world do. I imagine that your fellow Latvians probably consider u to be a philosophical traitor. Yes??

Lustig Andrei wrote:
Well, lah-di-dah and hand that man another kewpie bear.
Maybe that means a total hysterical breakdown into nonsense noises.

Lustig Andrei wrote:
You have no soul, David,
I have the soul of personal freedom and the Spirit of Original Americanism,
which your posts have lacked.
We have no way of knowing how many of your frenzied claims r false, as that one is.

Lustig Andrei wrote:

She is your partisan; your posted philosophical inclinations are similar.
I 'm sure that she will continue to support u.
Maybe some of the conservative American Originalists agree with me.

That coud be possible, but regardless: the truth remains unaffected by your rantings
and your mindless, rambling agitation has failed to turn me into a leftist. That did not happen.
I still support libertarianism, Individualism, hedonism and laissez faire capitalism.
I continue to support a hearty & robust fight against commie or nazi lovers, or those who undermine Individual freedom, for any reason, or for no reason.

I WILL concede to u better talent at hurling ad hominem invective and empty threats.
Maybe that improves with practice.

Giving u the benefit of the doubt, as to mendacity,
we will accept your IGNORANCE on this point.

Title to the watch was not in dispute.
It was held by Tutt as collateral security for a gambling debt.
