Do you think it's immoral to step on bugs?

I like to stomp on them while laughing maniacally. Or, better yet, to find a busy anthill, spray it with lighter fluid, and then throw on a match.

That woud be a humorous sight
to watch Setanta hopping around in the F L A M E S, with his maniacal laffter.
Maybe he coud do that to celebrate April Fool's Day, or his Comrade Stalin 's birthday.

I don 't usually have much interest in dancing,
but that 'd be an exception.

We roasted hot dogs, marshmellows, etc.

I venture to surmise
that as Setanta executes his genocidal dance in his inferno,
he 'll bring new and special meaning,
to that old rhyme:
" Liar, Liar, pants on fire! "

( Please Note: nothing hereinabove set forth shoud be deemed to countenance cruelty to animals.)

Wow...this thread is still going ! Maybe that should tell us something ?

IMO "Morality" is about "living with yourself". Anybody who hesitates regarding an action, or needs to give it a second thought has a problem with that "self image" they live with. But selves are social constructions relative to others. Hence "living with self" is to some extent about "group membership". Considering the bug-stamping scenario at all (irrespective of its comic elements) merely indicates the identity of self with more than one group and possibly a conflict of allegiances.

Maybe that coud be possible.

I deem it to be restraint from the violation of the rights of others.

With all respect,
if I am trying to calculate the most optimal of 7 different tax strategies,
I 'm not so sure that I 'll choose the best one on the basis of "self image."

While he does a merry jig amongst the FLAMES,
I wonder if he 'll give us a renditon of When Irish Eyes Are Smiling

There 1ce came a time that I rescued a large turtle in distress. He had a long neck; looked like a snake.

I did not deem myself to be a turtle.

Paying taxes is the height of patriotism. Tax avoidance/evasion is little more than treason.

@izzythepush,
In America, it is perfectly legal, and respectable, to avoid taxes.
It's evading taxes that everyone has a problem with.

I counsel each citizen to pay as little tax as possible
to keep the henchman of the collective weak, starved & inoffensive,
with gratitude to Heinlein.

I have known people who have kept their property out of reach.
I have not thawt less of them. ( 1 woman even repudiated her citizenship, to defend herself from taxes. )
I wish them good fortune.

No no, you could pay me as a regular employee, I'd think good things of you in a very professional manner.
A professional well-wisher probably could rate a company vehicle too.

@OmSigDAVID,
I don't know about the citizenship thing, sounds a pretty extreme measure.
At any rate, they get their share in the end, eventually.
Do you pay sales tax on food in NY ?

I eat out a lot; we pay sales tax for food n drink in restaurants.
If I 'm not mistaken, food in grocery stores is untaxed; (candy might be--not sure).
