Is there a problem with some A2K functions today?

@msolga,
couldn't open my laptop yesterday - hammered away at all keys ... nothing .
drove to future shop - only a couple of miles away .
the technician took the batteries out and immediately re-installed them - didn't do anything else .
... and the computer took off like a rabbit .
i stood there dumbfounded ... " yea , that's sometimes all it takes " , the technician said !
i wonder if i really experienced that ???

@hamburgboy,
Ha.

I'm really glad your problem was so easily resolved, hamburger ... & that no completely innocent, hard working hamster died in the process.
Heaven knows, one hamster casualty was enough!
Poor Binky.

My initial problem appears to have remained resolved, too. (apart from a few emoticons which continue to play up. But I can live with that.)

Posting away & touching wood here.

@msolga,
Interim Report -

Have had the problem with a2k not fully loading the pages all morning.

(Safari, Mac OS X 10.5.8, if that matters at all)

I'm learning how to read threads anyway, but I miss the real A2K.

@ossobuco,
One of the funny things about this not full page stuff is that I can see all the threads I've voted down that are still going.

I tend to agree with my earlier judgements.

@Fil Albuquerque,
That's exactly the situation which prompted me to start this thread a few days ago, Fil ....
But, while I had the same problem as you with the BBcode editor, other A2Kers weren't experiencing the same problem at the same time.
Couldn't figure it out & thought my computer was playing up.

The functions of the code editor will probably be restored on your computer, just as mine (mostly) were. Without me having done anything at all to restore them. The next time I returned to A2K there they were again!
It's all a bit of a mystery, isn't it? Smile

Ah, I thought I had reported on this thread that the full loading of pages was back later yesterday. I guess I didn't. But - all is fine as far as I'm concerned and thank you to the Key Hamsters.

Comparing notes again - nothing of too major importance .....

But, over the last couple of days I've experience a few difficulties when editing my posts :

I click on to where I want to change something I've written, but the edit appears at the bottom of the post, rather than where it should have appeared.
Sometimes accidentally altering links I've provided, making them ineffective.

After that, I can edit where I want to, with no problem.

Is this happening to any else?

The only changes I have made recently was to install Firefox 8.
Could that have been the cause of the problem?
(I can't see how it could have been, myself ...)

@ossobuco,
OK.
That's good to know, osso.
Maybe the problem is at my end?

Hi all...

I'm having A2K "connectivity" problems today. Keep getting cut off then can't get back in ....

Just wondering if this is an Oz thing, a provider thing, or if others are experiencing the same.

A number of times I've tried to connect to A2K through Google ... no go, then & have received this message:

Quote:
The connection was reset

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.

If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.

If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

@sozobe,
Thanks, soz.
You might be right about that, but I couldn't find any of the usual "pre-warnings" ....

At least I know it's not just here....
Seems to be touch & go at the moment.

@sozobe,
Been having trouble for more than an hour. Going to switch over to the A2K Facebook group to talk about it. This is too sporadic.

Yes......huge problems getting anything to work.

Occasionally it kinda works for a few minutes....then gone.

@dlowan,
OH. When I made no connection I quit trying and changed app to FB or Skype and chatted with friend in Switzerland and then played (BeJeweled).
