I'm not a hater, I'd never even heard of One Direction until I heard that they'd been pissed on by a koala. Maybe more boy bands should follow suit, if they wish to raise their profile.

I have given it thought. Ive always wanted a tattoo. I'm gonna get one on my lower belly right under my belly button, one on my wrist and one on my back and now I want a feather behind my ear. And I want my name in Chinese letters on the back of my neck.

I'm prob'ly one of the very few old geezers on this thread who is in no way shocked or upset or disturbed by your tattoo plans, Gracie. Here in Hawaii it's unusual to see a person without tattoos. The girls, especially, get very artsy and clever and ingenious about their body art. Some great stuff on view 24/7. You go, girl!

(But I agree with CJ: wait til yo're 18 or so.)

Hiya Gracie, Re tattoos, you're gonna do what you're gonna do. Something to think about. Tattoo location. Do you want them to be visible when you're wearing regular clothes? Think about walking into a job interview with a tattoo showing.

Those are really lame, Gracie. I doubt very much whether the Chinese characters can come close to your name as that's Chinese and you don't have a Chinese name.

Even if you chose a language with a syllabary [characters represent distinct sounds], the sounds wouldn't be Gracie, they would be the sounds of that language.

No, you will not get any tattoo artist to do the deed unless you're 18 years old or with a parent. Jane was the same way at 14 - she was consumed with tattoos and constantly watched L.A. Ink and Kat von D was her hero. Now at 16, she probably still want one, but is more reluctant - I am hoping in two years time when she's 18 she won't go for it at all. So it's all a matter of time and age.....I can sit it out and so can you!!

Gracie I’m 28 and most of my friends have a tattoo, some have a lot more then one. I’m still not convinced to get one. I think I’ll wait another ten years then give it some more thought; I’m in no hurry to leave a permanent mark in my body.

Thanks! Yeah, I don't really think its all that big a deal but all parents freak out when we say we want tattoos or piercings. I don't get it. "Your body's a canvas, decorate it". Hey, do you have any tattoos? Were you born in Hawaii? You don't look Hawaiian, you look white and you've got a lot of hair. Do you surf? Ive always wanted to go to Hawaii or like the Bahamas!
