I'm as fond as being mean to cats as the next man, but find that the overall cost of feeding the damn things would far outweigh the benefits gained by this scheme.
New research has in fact shown that the attraction between toast smeared with Vegimite and snow-white Berber carpet is far greater than the cat/carpet combination. Now if the toast is firmly attached spread side UP and the carpet laid on the track then the repellent force generated by the toast being unable to flip over to strike the carpet will keep the transport floating.
