What does "Porgies" mean in this sentence?e.g We tied a pair of pogies over the handlebars.

tying pogies over the handlebars was a pretty good clue Very Happy

I knew them for rowing - it wasn't too far to make the connection to biking

porgies are the fish (which is the thread title - but seems to be a typo from the original sentence fragment)

It may be wrong, but I like your answer instead. Kind of surreal to see two fish dangling and flying in the wind as the bicyclist speeds his or her way down the street. Especially if a few seagulls and pigeons are chasing in tow....

Well, I just figured if someone had biked over to the fishing hole, they'd have to tie their catch somewhere when it was time to go home.
