Ok so I have a step brother and we have to share a room so we change in front of each other and one time I got hard for no reason and I dont even know why. Ever since that I been having strange dreams about him when ever i sleep in the same rooms as him. I am not gay cause i have feelings for a lot of girls. Some more detail is that he seen me get hard and never said anything. But I have also never said anything cause I didn't want to make thing complicated. We still hang out and do a lot of stuff together. But ever since this thing happened I just cant stop getting that way when ever I am around him. What should I do should I talk to him when no one else is in the house or should I never bring it up and just keep going on confused? An keep in mind that I am new to this website an I would like to have nice an kind answers and this is a actual question so please no sarcasm. Thank you. Smile

@so many questions ,
Please realize that this is an international site. It's after midnight here on the East coast. In England, its not quite 6 in the morning.

I wasn't going to answer but you should realize that there is a sexual orientation called bisexual. Not saying you're that. I don't know you to make that kind of judgement.

Quote:

noun
4. a person sexually responsive to both sexes; ambisexual.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/bisexual

Also, you may not actually be sexually aroused by your step-brother. I'm assuming you're at least a teenager or older but still in puberty. That you are going through certain hormonal changes at this time. It could be just a coincidence that you are physically reacting as a side-effect of all those hormones in your body at the same time your changing in the same room as your stepbrother.

@so many questions ,
Hi My kids are teenagers and this is the advice I'd give them or their friends if they asked the same question..... I think you should try and let it go, and I definitley don't think you should talk to him about it . It could get very unpleasant and you have to keep living with him - and he'll be a part of your family one way or another for the rest of your life. You say the wrong thing now and I'm sure you will regret it. And I don't think that talking to him will make you less 'confused' anyway. You need to think through your feelings without complicating it by possibly getting him very angry with you. I would give the same advice whether you thought you were gay or not and whether it was your step brother or step sister. It's pretty normal to have emotional and/or sexual feelings for people we shouldn't - we can't help the feelings but we don't have to act on them. Maybe try and lessen the situations (like watching him get undressed) that are difficult for you.

Edited to add that I was typing this while tsastepan posted - I agree with the comments about hormones!

Do you have any other brothers?

This probably doesn't have a lot to do with this particular relative, but rather what your body is now experiencing. Having unwanted erections is quite normal for young men. It just seems to happen when you don't want it to. (Is it in the morning?)

Don't worry about it. Just laugh about it or ignore it.
