@Linkat,
I'm remembering the Bullwinkle & Rocky cartoons. A lot of their humor was sohisticated in nature, but that didn't mean I didn't get any of it.
I remember enjoying it from a kids perspective, and being quite pleased with myself when I caught some of the more mature humor.
Now, I remember the cartoons, and the adult stuff, and get a new perspective.
I don't know much about kid shows nowadays, but some of what I see challenges the kids to put things together.
Like I think I said, when I was a kid, if I heard the names scruffy and gruffy, even if I was a little kid, I would feel like whoever came up with those names didn't think I was very smart.
You can tell a good story, make kids laugh, but make them think at the same time.
Honestly, I originally thought of Jules, since he was one of the bad guys in Pulp Fiction.
Then trying to think of the opposite, the good guy, that just popped in my head, THEN I got the connection.
I think little kids wouldn't get it until they were in school, and learned about Jules Verne. Then they would think "Hey, that was cool"
