TEENAGE REBELLION!

Stories pop up all of the time e.g., a teenage daughter with a very feminine mother turns out to be a tomboy.

Why does this happen???
At the beginning of every child's life, an authoritative figure will choose the paths and parameters the child acts within e.g., what to do, what not to do. The child is subject to a leader for the first years of its life. Upon the slow realization life will not always have a leader to graze the path, is when the rebellion starts.
Rebellion is a form of survival instincts. Knowing what is ahead, a teenager will desire to create their own lifestyle, which is completely opposite of their authoritative figures, being that following a path already set up will not benefit them in the future when they are without a leader to follow.
Therefore teenagers experiment with every new opportunity available.

Switching the authoritative role to available when needed but not as a leader anymore. Parents who refuse to give up their title of leader will suffer the consequences.

Does this make sense to you??
Any thoughts are welcome.

@RisingToShine,
Nope.

There have been all sorts of parents who've had rebellious teens. There have been all sorts of parents who've had obedient teens. It's not a one-size-fits-all solution.
