Before we pulled into the bus station, I caught sight of a stagnant display of half-sized MiG fighter planes stuck on shafts. It felt as if I had suddenly fallen back through time into the dark world of Cold War rivalries.
"a stagnant display of half-sized MiG fighter planes stuck on shafts"
who can expalin this sentence for me? Does the sentence mean that the MiG fighter planes were put on display on some pillars or columns ?
BTW, What the meaning of "half-sized" here?
@Nancy88,
Thes same questions have already been asked by someone else.
Is this a book used in a school course in China or somewhere?
Yes, they were on pillars and they were models, half original size.
@contrex,
Asked by the same person, too.
Nancy88, it is very bad manners and very disrespectful to ask the same question again after you have already been given satisfactory answers. Such disrespect may make people unwilling to help you in the future.
@contrex,
I am sorry, it's my fault. I just wanted to futher my question and asked for a explannation of the whole sentence besides the meaning of the word "half-sized".
I am sorry again.
@Nancy88,
So why not do it on the same thread? Then any people who have been interested/involved will see it immediately.

You got both in the other thread.
