@Sturgis,
You're baised against cats. CATS CAN'T BE TOUGH? YES THEY CAN. Mad

TUFFY IS A CAT - HE IS NO WIMP.
I DON'T WANT HIS COP DAD TO SOUND LIKE A WIMP EITHER.

TERRY IS A GOOD NAME - STOP MAKING FUN.

@JGoldman10,
I'm depressed again (for a different reason this time). Sad This is one of the silliest online controversies I've ever seen. Cartoon characters and tough names, sheesh! Rolling Eyes Laughing

JGoldman10, you don't seem to understand. By reacting to Sturgis the way you are, you're providing entertainment for him and other members. You're being a source of amusement to them. Even I think it's funny, even though your last plaintive line reminds me of a young child being bullied by name-callers at school. Remember what I once told you about the proverbial young boy carrying a long pole and the hornets' nest? Well, you're the hornets's nest; and Sturgis (and at least one other member) is the young boy. You're reacting exactly the way they want you to react. I understand the temptation to want to tease you. But you have the advantage of not having to deal with them in person. The solution is to actually ignore them. By that, I mean after you've put them on "Ignore," you don't click on that little line of tiny print (whatever it says) so you can read what they wrote. I know that once you've put someone on "Ignore," you're faced with the temptation to override it. This isn't always true in real life; but in this situation if you truly ignore them, they'll eventually get bored and go away. But if you continue to react to their funny posts, they'll continue to bug you; and even I find it to be funny, I'm sorry to say. Being as base as I am, I, too, succumb. Sad

When you hear the name TEDDY do you think "tough guy"?

Dear Reader, take your pick:

Teddy Kennedy

... or teddy bear

@JGoldman10,
Of course, not. I was saying that a few members were trying to provoke you with silly responses of their own. They were the ones trying to be funny (and succeeding). I know you weren't trying to be funny. And I wasn't meaning to be funny at your expense; I was just trying to find humor in the situation.

Unfortunately, I've gotta go now. It's way past my bedtime. Sad

Peace. Smile

STREETFIGHTING CATS AND DOGS WHO FIGHT CRIME is MY IDEA. MY main hero is a streetfighter, so it would be logical to make his dad a cop.

@JGoldman10,
Meanwhile, Ive submitted a story idea and several stills to a publisher. Its about some mythical street fightin cats and dogs who are the mind job of this cartoonist who cant get laid, whose a real simpleton and has problems relating to the world as it is. The story lines are hilarious cause this guy doesnt know how to speak softly and he spends time on line seeking ideas for his own comic.

They loved it.

@JGoldman10,
Okay. I respect your request. I was only trying to be funny, and I happen to like just about any kind of monster (especially if it's funny like that teddy bear Laughing ). But I do respect your point of view and shall honor your request. Smile

Terry and Toby are totally wimpy. Go with Rutger or Wolfgang oor Samson. Those are tough. Or Stud or Rip or Brick. How bout Hulk. Or Rock. Toby, feh. You really have no talent for this, JC.

I HAVE some STREETFIGHTERS/TOUGH GUYS with NAMES like Rock or Brick.

I was looking for SLANG TERMS to use for STREETFIGHTERS/TOUGH GUYS. ESPECIALLY SLANG TERMS USED IN FOREIGN COUNTRIES AND CULTURES.

A COP is a WHOLE OTHER STORY.

WHO SAYS I DON'T HAVE TALENT FOR THIS? STOP MAKING ASININE ASSUMPTIONS.

I LIKE TERRY - THAT IS A GOOD COP NAME AND I AM USING IT.

TOBY SOUNDS LIKE A SECURITY GUARD OR WATCHDOG NAME.

@JGoldman10,
If you set it in East Germany just before the Berlin Wall comes down you could call it Terry Stroika. Or you could set it in 16th Century Denmark and call it Toby Ornottoby.

@izzythepush,
No, the German characters would have slangy German names. Neutral

I got them too. I thought they were far too clever for J Goldman to catch. Did you seriously think he would??

No, JGoldman, Toby sounds like someone short and extremely fat with pimples, who drools and sings like Tiny Tim. Toby is not tough.

Now here's a T-y name that might actually work: assume your average cat cop is 6 feet tall and weighs 180 (I don't care how far off those figures may be from your actual envisioned size--I'm just using them to make a comparison). The cop that is 7'6" and weighs 300 pounds, whose muscles have muscles on them, is nicknamed Tiny.

I'm only just beginning to see how alert J Goldman is.

J. Goldman, I've got a really brilliant idea for your strip. Make the streetfighting hero gay. He can fight against evil fundamentalist cat-spayers. At the end of every episode he could give a blow job to the cock he'd just saved. Terry the tortoiseshell tabby could be every bit as big as Dora the Explorer. The kids will love it.
