Week #12 Results...
I am rejecting any notion of being humble. JohnBoy won the tiebreaker and the week. 2nd week in a row and 3rd for the season. Fbaezer and RJB finished at 14-2. I originally had EhBeth in contention if the Saints won but, after review, she had the Giants last night. She went 13-3, along with Osso, Wandeljw, Liontamerx and Cowdoc.
Spendius, Rhys, Region, JPB, Edgar, AndyClubber and Mis Cowdoc came in at 12-4 followed by Tico and CoastalRat at 11-5. George, Mysteryman and Ragman closed the week at 10-6 with Jespah at 9-7. The vacationing McGentrix got burnt with a stunning record of 7-9.
The best ESPN guy did well at 14-2 while the worst was 10-6.
CoinToss/CoinToss - surprised but pleased at being somewhat the center of attention here - was 9-7.

This was our best week of the season by far. As a group we went 245-91 (.729). Perhaps we are getting smarter or perhaps it was an easy schedule.

A nod to Mysteryman who has Drew Brees on his Fantasy league roster. MM collected some 37 fantasy points last night to come from way back to win his matchup.

@cicerone imposter,
We are not trying to guess the result of 300 tosses. We are trying to see where Coin Toss would finish in the Pick-um league table. I think it would be bottom if the rest of the players are exercising informed choice in picking the winning team as they did picking Green Bay. If they are exercising choice in picking the losing team C/T would be top. And choosing the winner is also choosing the loser.

@Region Philbis,
It's not as impressive as two Pick-um titles in a row. I went daft changing to the Lions and my other three losers were the Rams, by 3 pts, the Seahawks who led into the fourth and the Chargers in OT. That's how tight it is. One dropped pass or interception is all there is in it for those games.

Can officials control the result by adjudicating on holding, personal fouls and pass interference.

@spendius,
you suspect the officials of conspiring against you personally, Spendi?

In that case, I would wait to file my picks until just before game time, when they are already on the field...

As I always suspected, these Gringos have no mercy.

@Rockhead,
Applied to first game on list. Home win. Picks Seahawks.

Now next game on list. Toss Rockie. Heads home win. Don't look at the fixture list.

@Rockhead,
Whew. Thank you. I was being held captive in a vending machine and...
Actually, at the bottom of my original request was a cryptic HHT/TVT.
This week, cicerone imposter is our celebrity coin flipper. He is not able to log on to this thread as me. Instead he posted his picks as H,H,T...or whatever under his own name. I can't recall how I have recorded the picks when a picker does that vs naming the winning teams by name.
HHT means that Rockhead's toss of heads is a vote for the home team.

Standings after 12 weeks of this silliness. 5 more to go.
1) Johnboy (125-51 .710) stretches his lead from 3 to 7 games over
2) Ragman (118-58 .670) who holds onto 2nd
3) Wandeljw (117-59 .665) gains a notch from 4th to tie
3) George - still where he was
5) Fbaezer (107-56 .656) makes a good move from 9th
6) LiontamerX (115-61 .653) advances from 5th
6) Spendius slips by 1 position
8) Tico (114-62 .648) drops from 5th
9) Osso (113-63 .642) climbs from 11th
9) Cowdoc pops up from 11th
9) Region inches up from 10th
12) JPB (112-64 .636) slips from 11th
13) CoastalRat (111-65 .631) stumbles from 11th
14) EhBeth (109-67 .619) creeps up from 13th while
14) McGentrix tumbles from 7th*
16) Mis Cowdoc (108-68 .614) gives up 1 spot from 15th
17) Mysteryman (106-70 .602) is down from 15th
18) Rhys (105-71 .597) remains in 18th
19) AndyClubber (104-72 .591) holds on to 19th
20) Edgar (103-73 .585) is stuck in 20th
21) Jespah (87-89 .494) is stuck in 21st

*Notice that a bunch of players are clustered in the middle separated by a mere game or three. A really good or bad week can result in relatively big changes in the standings.
For the season we are at .632 which is up a bit. We have picked a total of 3,773 games.
The Best ESPN expert is at .670 which places him in 2nd while the worst is at .609 - good for 17th.

So that is it. We head into the homestret...
Hold on a second. Someone is tugging on my sleeve. Oh. Yeah. CoinToss/CoinToss is 98-78 (.557) which would put CT ahead of only Jespah.

That guy in first will be impossible to catch, but there is only one game separating me and George from Ragman. This year's race for second place will be the one to watch. Smile

@wandeljw,
I am working on my acceptance speech, but am wary about the rest of the season. Particularly I fear if I think about picks and wait until later in the week I might get criticized by a conspiracy theorist as playing defense after peeking at others' picks.
