I don't think anyone is interested in making this about the spread.

@Ticomaya,
You mean to tell me the Miz's pick of Jacksonville might actually come true?

@ossobuco,
I was only kidding osso. Bit of fun in the vast, empty vacancy of the mid week.

Maybe you would be easier to amuse if I told tickling stick jokes.

@Ticomaya,
I don't think it's even a remote possibility and I'll give you at least a push of 7 points.

And speaking of long-shots, how about those Jaguars? That was the capper for my worst prediction week - 6-6! LOL! Wow!

Yeah, didn't see that coming. Only the "Sage in Salmon" did.

Week #7 Results-
I warned yesterday that we might fare badly; and that was before the Baltimore debacle last night.
As a group we went .535 which is not only our worst result of the season but may well rank down there in the record book in all the time we have been playing.
Congratulations to Tico for managing to go 10-3 to win the round. That was extremely well done and he would have gone 11-2 if he had not picked from his heart in the Pittsburgh @ Arizona game.
Rhys and Wandeljw did well at 9-4. At 8-5 were CoastalRat, Fbaezer, Cowdoc and LiontamerX. A bunch were at 7-6: Mis Cowdoc, Andy, Ragman, Spendius and Johnboy. And an ever larger group finished 6-7: McGentrix, Mysteryman, JPB, Region, George and Osso.
Ehbeth, Edgar and Jespah stumbled in, panting a bit, at 5-8.
Panzade missed the week. It would be amusing to learn what his picks would have been.
CoinToss/CoinToss did better then some real people at 7-6. The best ESPN dude was 8-5 while the worst was underwater at 6-7.

Could that be the asterisk that Tico seemed worried about?

And On To The Standings-
1) Pansade (67-23 .744) holds 1st and gains a few points while...

3) Ragman (71-23 .689) sticks in 3rd to keep the race at the top close
4) Wandeljw (69-34 .670) enjoys a pop from 7th after a decent week
5) Fbaezer (68-35 .660) rises from 7th vs
5) George
5) Region and
5) JPB who slip from 4th (and JohnBoy conserves verbs)
9) Tico (67-36 .650) gets a nice bounce up from 14th
9) Cowdoc gains 2 notches from 11
9) Spendius drops 2 notches

13) LiontamerX (65-38 .631) inches up from 14th

13) McGentrix matches that
16) CoastalRat (63-40 .612) inches up from 17th
17) EhBeth (62-41 .602) takes a hit from 14th
18) AndyClubber (61-42 .592) holds on where he was
19) Rhys (60-43 .583) creeps up from 20
20) Mis Cowdoc (59-44 .573) is down from 19th
21) Edgar (56-47 .544) loses his share of 20th
22) Jes(I'm sinking)pah (50-53 .485!) maintains the cellar

21) CoinToss (56-47 .544) is still in 21st

@realjohnboy,
Well John--all Pan has to do is stay out of the game for the rest of the season and hope his .744 holds up and he's won my title. As it probably will hold up there's no point the rest of us continuing. He should have dropped to joint 9th with me, Tico and Cowie. It's not our fault he ducked. I would add a 5 point penalty.

Spendi ... you're not focusing on the most important part of RJB's post ...

@Ticomaya,
It matters not to me, in 2nd - or I suspect to Ragman in 3rd - that Panzade missed a week. Rag and I fell back a bit in our winning percentages but so what? It is no big deal. I am confident his absence was not intentional.
As Tico noted, Spendius, you are in a fierce battle with him for, um, 9th place.
This game, under my watch, will never go to picking spreads or include scoring based on players picking upsets. I know my audience here. We don't want a complicated game. Pick the winners based on the schedule posted on Monday and come back on the Tuesday a week later to see how things turned out. Several players do that.
That is all.

@realjohnboy,
Oh well John--we all know it doesn't matter. We are only pretending that it does. Try answering the point. We all know that it's doom alone that counts. If I was Pan I would be absent until somebody gets ahead of .744 and claim the title.

It sure was a good week to have been missing. Where's the "pick-um" when you're not picking? I think Pan gained ground on the best ESPN expert without getting out of his hammock.
