Do native speakers use the phrase "In my country..."? For example, do you say "In my country, British English is used."

It's not a common phrase that I hear anymore but I've heard it used on occasion in the past.

Not common, but really not rare, either. I would probably only use it when I were in someone else's country.

I agree on that, though I'd probably attempt to say that in that country's language.

Yes. Although the question is rather tautological, since I come from Britain.

I would probably say something more like ""Don't you guys speak funny?"

I wouldn't say it.



I'd say, In Canada, we speak English.



Does anyone specify what type of English they speak? in what context would you do that?
