He has no close friends, does/doesn't he?

Is the sentence natural? If so, which verb in bold should I use?

Thanks.

No, it's not really natural, Ms Tan.

Perhaps it's the nature of the statement. It seems rather categoric. Tag questions are added because a statement we make often carries with it a measure of doubt.

He doesn't have any close friends, does he?

@JTT,
He has no close friends, does/doesn't he?

Reflecting upon this a bit,

He has no close friends, does he?

is certainly possible. The tag question could show an afterthought, as in,

He has no close friends, ... does he?

or it could be just a regular tag.

@tanguatlay,
Hi JTT.

He has no close friends, does he?

Although the sentence is not natural, would it be better to use 'has he' instead of 'does he', because of the 'has' in the above sentence?

Thanks.

Good day, afternoon or evening, Ms Tan.

I think I retreated from my initial position on the "natural" part. It is most certainly a possibility, so it's natural. It's not a matter of better. There's no one standing by scoring our speech. We speak to communicate and either does or has would work.
