Well to these same conservatives I say please don't take the Christ out of charity...

Please don't take the Christ out of forgiveness.

Please conservatives don't substitute an X for love of the poor by blocking affordable healthcare.

Don't substitute racism, sexism and homophobia for the message of peace on earth and good will towards people...

Conservatives, stop your war on Christianity...

The Hebrews people waited fervently for a baby to be born and built an entire religion upon that idea. Worship of fetus...

I have not only read the old testament but also studied some of the Hebrew texts...

I am an agnostic now but I would hold my old testament knowledge up to yours any day...

You would be better off studying the Koran. That book is as relevant today as it was in the 7th century. The OT is simply used to excuse Islams present day atrocities.

I was singing in church choirs at the age of 8 all the way into my early (rebellious) teens.

I on my own came back to religion and became a missionary at 18 years old and traveled across the country knocking on doors and witnessing "the word of God".... I converted my entire family to Christianity (which today I regret).

I turned many skeptical people to the gospel...

One day the Bible seemed to no longer fit with itself and I became skeptical myself.

I prefer skepticism over fervent belief now and only occasionally do I call upon any (non denominational, non sect) higher powers to do my bidding for me.

I do not believe in the Christian God but I do believe in some of the tenants of Christianity and yes "parts" of the Old testament too.

I am Jew/Christian/Muslim neutral and plan to stay that way...

The Bible is a unified whole. Piecemeal, it is useful only for justifying license.

I absolutely do not believe the Bible is a unified whole... Neither the old testament is unified with itself nor is the new testament unified with itself nor are both testaments unified together with each other.

This lack of inherent unity and obvious ambiguity in the Bible is clearly a license to, for the most part, disregard the whole thing...

If it were so congruent why so many denominations? Who is right? You? Me? Them?

Even Martin Luther knew that when he wrote his thesis on how many "contradictions" he found in the Bible....
