Fox News host Eric Bolling denied that anyone in the United States has ever been deprived of health care. He's wrong -- millions of people have been denied care or have had their insurance coverage rescinded, denied, or altered by insurance companies due to pre-existing conditions, policy loopholes, and various other reasons. Here are just a few examples.

@RexRed,
From the article.

The piece then highlights what I have been saying for a long time about the GOP and their attacks on Obamacare: That they are going to look terrible in the future once the history is told.

GOP lies are now legend, but they still have advocates and supporters; even people of religion who ignore god's instruction "to love thy neighbor."

They have looked "terrible" for a long time. They are more interested in their money than in people; they cut funding for food stamps, education, infrastructure maintenance and repair, and also wants to cut social security - the only safeguard for the retired. But, hey, they will support our military complex and wars as their top priority - to start illegal wars that kill tens of thousands of innocent people.

The christian "right" people are just plain dangerous to humanity in this country and world.

Republicans hold onto their party like their religion. I wonder why they don't see the contradictions in being good humans. Life is short, and they can't take their money with them to the "next world." Dead is dead, and they can't even take it to "heaven."

@RexRed,
If the GOP shuts down the government, it will without a doubt be the Republicans who will pay the most jarring price....shutting down the government will have global repercussions. The Dems might be able to take back the House....long shot I know.....but we might also be able to expand our senate base. For the Republicans to hold the US hostage because of a law that's legal, confirmed and upheld by the United States Supreme Court (it's been on the books for 4 years), is just plain GOP extortion representing a child's temper tantrum. President Obama said he will not negotiate with those intent on harming the American people or who expect him to veto his own signature legislation.

@Moment-in-Time,
From my reading of the shutdown, they seem to claim that the impact of it will not be felt by many. The military will receive IOU's, national parks will close, social security payments could be delayed, federal workers (*800,000 workers) could be furloughed (their incomes reduced as well as their spending), and no new patients accepted for clinical research.

Republican government workers and the military must love the GOP. Congress will continue to get their pay and benefits. Evil or Very Mad

Past shutdowns have shown that the effects on the stock market is little to none.

Much will depend on the length of the shutdown. The US is sure to lose another credit rating. Don't know how the stock market will react if the shutdown is extended beyond 48 hrs. We live in a global economy, CI, and what effects the US will have intercontinental consequences.

I've just learned something regarding Cruz; this guy is a fanatic, uncompromising and dogmatic ...he is scary and reminiscent of the Nazi ideologue.

@Moment-in-Time,
Whatever happens in the US "always" has intercontinental consequences. The only problem with this common knowledge outside of Washington is that the GOP is too ignorant to understand what they continue to do by using the debt ceiling as blackmail to delay Obamacare. Ain't gonna happen. ObamaCare is already law passed by congress, and approved by the Supreme Court.

What's even funnier is that by the GOP's stonewalling on the debt ceiling that might delay social security checks, 800,000 government workers lose pay, and the military given IOU's, they think they can win the election next year.

Comedy at its best.

A changing demographic is beginning to lift its head. The perniciously malevolent extremist faction of the Tea Party have sent out a message to Latinos, that they're not wanted; to Gays, you're not wanted, to Black Americans, you are not wanted. How the hell do they expect a diversified America to vote for the Republican when they are continually bombarded with signals they're not wanted? The current Tea Party faction will destroy the Republican Party, especially with a Hillary or a Joe Biden running for president. The Americans will run from the Republicans like they are a case of rat poison.

@Moment-in-Time,
That's the mystery of our times; they continue to get minorities and women voting for them. Without them, they wouldn't come close to compete in too many elections.

It's beyond my ability to understand why. Masochists, maybe?

What surprised me most about that cartoon was the fact that it was published in Houston - the heart of red states.

@edgarblythe,
Most people won't be able to translate the true message. The GOP prefers spending money on warfare over taking care of our own.

It's such a simple message - that most conservatives don't even understand or accept as fact.
