I chacterized people who indulge themselves in the pain and suffering of the defenseless as human garbage. At times we forget we, Homo Sapiens, is the animal man with all that entails...there is the dark side of our nature. The inhuman cruelty we have meted out to each other down through the centuries, throughout our existence, is bloodcurdling.

So often we publish lists that praise events in human history – tales of victory over diseases, disastrous situations, and the like. But alas, history is also replete with events that we must remember so as to not repeat them, but we wish had never happened. I was terribly moved by the recent fatal killing of a TransGender person. It brought to memory the poor student, Matthew Shepard, who was beaten and left tied like a scarecrow to a fence in the freezing winter because he was Gay....dying eventually from his exposure to extreme cold. Another incident comes to mind, that of James Byrd; "white men kidnapped the 49-year-old black man on the night of June 7, 1998. They chained him by the ankles to the back of a pickup truck and dragged him for 3 ½ miles down a country road near Jasper, Texas. Byrd died when he was decapitated after he hit a culvert."

In the face of such savagery, it's difficult to think of Mankind as anything but destructive....oh, we're capable of such promise, but sometimes I wonder if the primitiveness of the animal within us outweigh it all.

I agree; it's in human nature to be cruel as well as kind. That will not change in the future no matter how much knowledge man can gain in sociology and science.

Your post is indeed interesting, RexRed. There will always be persons (Black Sheep) who causes shame or embarrassment because of deviation from the accepted standards of his or her group.

There are some in myriad "racial" ethnicities who will join the oppressors, the task masters, those who shout the loudest. A lot of it has to do with "personal ambition," and a willingness to be used as a utility in order to advance their own personal lust for power. Look at the lawn jockey, clarence thomas. He would never have gotten into Harvard unless there had been a program "similar" to Affirmative Action," and yet he is the one supreme justice (Unqualified I might add) who is shouting the loudest to abolish all forms of Affirmation Action and restrict voting rights. He had said recently his Harvard degree is hanging in the basement and is not worth much. This Jurist is surely one of the dumbest to ever serve on the United States Supreme Court if one can possibly classify it as "serving."!

During WW2 amid Hitler's unmerciful attack on Jews, there were a number of Jews serving in Hitler's military, and many working with the Nazis to round up Jews. To be fair, these (Jewish-Jew Catchers) as they were called were threatened with the total annihilation of their families if they did not help round up their own kind. But there were some who willingly went along with Hitler's savagery and continued to be in favor because they had shown their disdain for their own or a special fondness for Hitler.

You are correct about the Jews who served under Hitler *(Nazis). The Germans rated Jews by what percentage Jews they were. 100%, half, and quarter, and they had a policy not to let any 100% Jews serve in their ranks, but one famous 100% Jew became a high ranking officer. Many others served in the SS.

I, too, have read similar articles regarding Jews serving Hitler with disguised identities. There were many secular Jews who thought of themselves as thoroughly German and had been in Germany and other parts of Europe so long they had forgotten their roots. It's an understandable circumstance during WW2, and one doesn't blame Jews trying to hide from their executioners and yet trying to hold on to some semblance of their culture pre-Hitler.

There were some Jews who chose to side with Hitler and who knows how many of us would not have made the same decision. However, in the case of African American becoming Republicans in the face of such transparent racism from the GOP is staggering, but one can count the number of turncoats on one hand. Most African Americans run from the Republican Party as if it were the Devil coming to drag them into the pit of hell, and the AA vote is written off in total where the GOP is concerned and they know this! They flaunt the token blacks to make it seem they are appealing to American blacks.

So true! It's beyond my ability to see how blacks can vote republican in today's political atmosphere. It just doesn't make any sense.

That also holds true for women. Republicans are taking away the control of their own bodies, and women still vote for them.

It's an interesting phenomenon about these contradictions on how humans react to different situations. Nothing is black and white.

As mentioned in my previous post, people are different, and a few AA will join the Republican Party to be used as a tool to satisfy their lustful personal ambition. This divergence from the norm is not limited to just African Americans exclusively....this anomaly exist within all ethnicities. No race/ethnicity has an exclusivity on this type of behavior.



This same type of deviation can be seen in Republican women who are primarily loyal to their base as well as harboring much enmity for the Obama administration....they feel, also, by being disloyal to their GOP that they present an image of treachery....it's a case of us against them. And yet, there are courageous women who're Republican who speak out forcefully for women's rights.....granted I'm unable to name any right now, but have heard them speak on talk shows.



I don't find it so contradictory as Human Nature just being itself. We are all different even in a homogeneous society. Each of us encounter emotional, mental, spiritual, and yes, even religious experiences different from others. So therefore, why should we be surprised that some women will vote against what you and I perceive as their best interests or that some African Americans are conservative and go along with the Republican propaganda?

I understand fully what you're saying, because my philosophy about politics and religion differ from all of my siblings. My brother even served as mayor of his town, and two terms in the state legislature in California.

The conservative party has already been taken over by insects... Teamites and repubroaches!

Think of how many MILLIONS of this surplus has been eaten up by Republicans using tax payer money to try and repeal Obama Care!

They tried 40 times, and I suspect they're going to keep trying. It's also been made public that the GOP is going to vote against the debt ceiling again in their attempts to stop funding ACA (ObamaCare).
