@RexRed,
Quote:

Jesus Christ filed a lawsuit today in the New York Supreme Court against the Republican National Committee for what he is calling “egregious misrepresentation of his statements and image.”

One of the attorneys representing Christ had this to say:

“For years Republicans have proclaimed their love for and loyalty to Jesus, yet their actions are highly contradictory to what Mr. Christ preached. Instead of helping the poor and the sick GOP instead punishes the poor and the sickly.

Our client isn’t telling the GOP what their agenda should be, he simply wants them to stop using his name when their actions contradict everything he stood for.

If the GOP would like to continue using his name they have to start making a significant effort to help the poor and the sick, instead of the rich, and start promoting a more peaceful agenda.”

When asked about the lawsuit, House Speaker John Boehner made the following remarks:

“Mr. Christ is entitled to his opinion, however the GOP believes that the underlying message in the Bible is that giving tax cuts to the wealthy is the true path to happiness.

The Republican Party throws moral and religious ethics under the bus 24/7. The Republican Party's God is Power and wealth.

@RexRed,
I have no problem with the wiretapping of American citizens and even snooping on the press. I did not object to Bush doing it and I certainly don't object to Obama doing the same.

Why would the conservatives have a problem? Only if they feel guilty about talking to their tea party cohorts about bad stuff, illegal activities and threatening language.

The most vocal opponents have something they feel guilty about and want to conceal...

Touché! I don't have anything to hide, but even if I did if monitoring the number of calls is a step in keeping us safe from attacks, well, go ahead. Obama's explanation made sense to me. There is no such thing as total freedom....in order to be as free as we currently are we have to relinquish something.

There are cameras positioned on practically every street in Manhattan, inside stores, on elevators, at the ATM machines, etc. I'm only sorry this FBI/CIA system has received such national attention; now caution by our enemies will be taken and they will go even further under cover.

Also "There is no such thing as perfect freedom in a finite being. Perfect freedom belongs only -to infinity ; finiteness implies limitations." Human Beings are finite.

@RexRed,
This brilliant quote by Isaac Asimov is spot on. Some of the most ignorant Americans swear the US is the best at everything and here the US congress refuses to even consider passing tougher gun laws, and we do have our share of wackos who mass shoot in schools innocents, movie theatre, etc. There is something inherently wrong regarding some parts of our society that produce so many Adam Lanzas (shooter at NewTown, Connecticut, which killed all those little angels).
