The internet is undoing a lot of the attempts at indoctrination... Simply, if the republicans don't change their hard lines they will most definitely be marginalized. I remember when MTV came to my small town in Maine where I spent a great part of my childhood. Almost overnight the town was transformed from goobers and hicks to rockers and semi-progressives. Social media should not be underestimated, especially by republicans and despots... Change is a coming regardless, so one shouldn't let it catch them in their unawares...

BTW I used to live in Dallas Texas and it was a party town for sure...
Twenty years ago gays walked hand in hand down the street in parts of Dallas without much of a problem at all... I would assume today it is even more so open to diversity. Houston maybe even more than Dallas is quite a progressive city.
