That doesn't apply if the insurance company cancels the plan. The companies cannot get new insureds for the plan because the new insureds are entitled to the ACA protections. I don't call that an Obama lie.

The congressman is NOT going after Julie Boomstra. He's going after the AD she's in. What's called "Julie's Story" is in fact a f***king ADVERTISEMENT, paid for by the notorious archconservative Koch brothers, with a $750,000 TV buy in Michigan. IF she hits the cap, after which she pays nothing, which is the worst case scenario, SHE WILL PAY $2 A YEAR, THAT'S TWO DOLLARS, MORE THAN HER PREVIOUS PLAN. And if her actual expenses are less than that, she'll save money under Obamacare. Plus according to the Detroit News (she's from Michgan, so they checked), she kkeeps the same doctor she liked and the same chemotherapy regime she's been on. Basically she, like the example the GOP Plastic Woman responding to the SOU cited, hadn't really checked to see what she was getting. or to compare plans. She's also got more consumer protections under Obamacare, that her previous plan didn't offer, which was why it was cancelled. She apparently would rather pay more simply because she paid the same exh month, even though she said it was a stretch, rather than potentially pay quite a bit less every year and at worst only $2 a year more, rather than have the monthly cost fluctuate, because she may have different medical needs each month.
