what is the latest statis on the use of olestra,aka olean in chips or any other food

Don't eat it as it can causes the liver to have 'fits'. Many people cannot tolerate it as it gives them the shits!

It gave millions of people loose stools and abdominal cramps. It lost popularity quickly. Frito-Lay potato chip corporation dropped it like a bad habit that it was.

However, after doing some researching, it is apparently still on the market:"As of 2011, the Lay's Light chips are still available, listing olestra as an ingredient. Pringles Light potato crisps, manufactured by P&G, use Olean brand olestra."
