There actaully are some people (most of them elderly) in Canada who do believe that the United States wishes to annex Canada. However, i'd say most of the responses here were derision, and conditioned a great deal by the OP's other threads.

Check out UEL country sometime. You'll still find a few ancients that think it is on the U.S. agenda. They're still fighting the War of 1812. Not a lot of them left, but they see a reason for those Martello towers.

It's hard to keep a straight face around them.

That sent me on a very interesting search. I'll have to check those out
next time I'm up your way.

When I visited the Citadel at Halifax, there was a display showing how the
fort would have been used to resist a U.S. invasion in the 1860s. You guys
won.

Yes, I remember your writing about that once.

I also know that the U.S. was invaded from Canada (though not by Canada)
in the 1860s (the St. Albans raid).
